...You know I never thought of that ,there really arent (The only ones I heard about before Fuli and Vitani were Vitani and Kiara,Vitani and Dotty ,Zira and Sarabi ...And one fanfic which had it where during the final battle,instead of Kovu facing Zira and Kiara facing Simba,Kiara faces Zira and Simba faces Kovu...But after string into eachothers eyes,Zira and Kiara fall in love and Simba and Kovu fall in love )

Right? It's weird. Although there is a bit of ZuriXTiifu now, and FuliXJasiri. It's weird that the mostly came around with TLG. New generation of fans, perhaps. (... you know, I try not to judge writers normally but)

I think it might be the fact that befre TLG most of the female characters were either related or not that interesting...Come to think of it not that many male X male ships out side of Kovu and Simba and Timon and Pumbaa ....And Mufasa and Scar or Scar and Simba but I'd rather those not be a thing
Context:It was written as a joke .The fanfic is basically composed of alternate endings to Lion King 2 and it was fairly tongue and cheek though there were some serious endings . The ones I remember are:
1. Big gay wedding ending which I just said (Which was my favorite made better by Nala and Vitanis utter confusion and frustration)
2.Mufasa's ghost striking down the outlanders
3.Zira and Nuka discovering Scar living in the jungle Timon and Pumbaa used to have and having a happily ever after with him
4.Zira taking Kiaras paw and realizing she is mentally ill
5. Super duper happy dappy ending ,where everyone gets along and it turns out Mufasa,Nuka and Scar are all alive ...This is my second favorite and it is pretty much summed up by this clip www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhklrv…

You're on to something there, I have to agree. Funny, with the addition of TLG, there's so many femaleXfemale pairings I enjoy--ZiraXReiRei being the most unexpected

Yup.Not enough interesting female characters to have female X Female pairings and not enough male characters at all to have male X Male pairings
I am now imagining Zira and Reirei prancing off romantically together while Goigoi and Scar's ghost look on in confusion
I have read one too...It was also unnerving and made worse by the fact Scar thought Simba was Mufasa
