Normally, because animals are my special interest, I exclusively read Animal Fantasy (Warrior Cats, Wings of Fire, Watership Down, etc.) when reading fiction. But when I do read fiction about humans, I try to envision fursonas for all of the characters in an effort to keep my interest (or else I get bored).

And I just finished Dracula.

And.... It's extremely Victorian. And Catholic. Also I kept getting Jonathan, Seward, Quincy, and Arthur confused because they're all the same, except one's from Texas and really doesn't need to be here.

But the pacing's pretty good, and the spooky shit is very spooky and nice and that's what I'm here for.

Truth be told, I've never really been into vampires. They're much too sexualized. But I recently developed a hyperfixation on the old lore, the pre-Dracula lore if you will, thanks to Ask A Mortician's video on the New England Vampire Panic , and the macabre nature of it all. Turns out the idea of the dead becoming undead and feasting in some way upon the living is a near universal concept, and that shit fascinates me.
