Well, these kids actualy do have a point.
Frisk is kind of stupid to think anyone would actualy belive her.
And besides, i think she easily forgets that almost every thing in the Underground attacked her on sight with intension of killing.
You can add up 6 human(children) souls to that equaison and monsters dont seem so much better than humans like they want to represent themeselves in those litle propaganda posters they have all over the waterfall area.

Frisk, you've gotten through a whole cavern of monsters without fighting! You can do this without resorting to the Fight option!

The first time you play the game, it's the Neutral Route which means whether or not you Kill the monsters or Spare them, they don't get freed at all. It's only on the Pacifist Run that they are freed by Frisk.
I believe the comic takes place after the Neutral run but before the Genocide/Pacifist runs
