Perna Studios is very excited to announce our 19th trading card set entitled Classic Mythology IV: World Mythology. This set will focus on Gods, Goddesses and Creatures from the following mythologies; Greek, Egyptian, Norse, Celtic, Japanese, Chinese, Native American, Aztec/Mayan, Inuit, Hindu and African. We have an impressive list of artists involved on this set working on both base/promo cards and sketch cards. Classic Mythology IV trading card set scheduled to release in early Summer 2023.

This awesome sketch art card of Ymir from Norse mythology is drawn by the very talented artist Rico dela Rosa for our Classic Mythology IV trading card set.

Norse Mythology – Ymir, also called Aurgelmir among the giants themselves in Norse Mythology, was the founder of the race of frost giants and was later killed by the Borrs. Ymir was the first living being formed in the primeval chaos known as Ginnungagap. Ymir was a giant of monumental size. When he slept a jötunn son and a jötunn daughter grew from his armpits, and his two feet procreated and gave birth to a son, a monster with six heads. These three beings gave rise to the race of frost giants, who populated Niflheim, the world of mist, chill and ice. When the giant Ymir subsequently was slain by Odin, Vili and Vé (the grandsons of Búri), his blood (i.e. water) deluged Niflheim and killed all of the jötnar, apart from one known as Bergelmir and his spouse, who then repopulated their kind.
