Victoria got out of the car and stretched her muscles. Even though she loved taking part in different competitions, driving to the stables was always hard. After looking after Dessy and caring for her, she took the Trakehner mare for a walk.
„I'll be back soon!“, she told Lennard, who was parking the car and the trailer, as there were many different stables and all of them had come with their cars and transport possibilities. He smiled and nodded, still a bit embarrassed because of the problems he had had at the small Showjumping Competition they had entered together. But how should he gain his confidence again after his accident? He sighed silently, watching Victoria, as she walked away, Dessy walking next to her and enjoying the fresh air, she loved being out after such a journey and they had plenty of time, until the show would start.
When the show was about to start, Victoria got dressed and went to the warm-up area with Dessy. Her costume was medieval inspired, Dessy wouldn't have her mane braided, so they looked like some old medieval rebels on the track. The mare was in a good condition and the jumps were not too high, so Victoria wasn't worried. Dessy would usually do these jumps without problems, so they just needed some luck to clear the jumps without knockdowns and a nice time. While looking at the other participants, she was sure, that everyone of them was determined and just as good as they were, maybe even better, she pursed her lips.
Lennard seemed to read her thoughts and smiled warmly.
„Don't worry, I'm sure you guys will give your best...“, he said. „Good luck!“
Victoria smiled. Some time ago, it was herself, standing next to Lennard, wo sat on their best horses, being jelous because he was allowed to enter big competitions and she wasn't. Viktor did not want her to enter the competitions back then. After his accident, she had been forced to enter, or Viktor had been forced to allow her to drive to the shows and she had proved herself. Now she wasn't nervous anymore, she enjoyed the challenge and she loved to see, how the effort, they put into the training of their horses, could pay off. Now, after his accident at the Olympics, it was Lennard, that did not feel well in the arena, they had seen that at the last show. But they would find a way to cure him, by now, she needed to concentrate on the event, on her run.
And then her number was called and she was introduced to the audience. She stroked the neck of the mare, flashed Lennard a smile and then entered the arena, facing the first jump. Victoria took a deep breath, then she pressed Dessy into a canter and prepared herself and the horse to hopefully clear the jumps.
