Description
Artificial Evolution is a classic topic of artificial life.I am interested in understanding the principles of biological evolution; in the spirit of the synthetic methodology, the understanding of biological phonomena can be greatly enhanced by trying to mimic or model aspects of the biological system..
Evolution has worked pretty well for biological systems, so why not apply it to the systems that control robots?
Evolutionary computing has been tapped to produce coherent robot behavior in simulation, and real robots have been used to evolve simple behavior like moving toward light sources and avoiding objects. As technology advances who knows what we will see...maybe this image is a reference to the future...complete artificial life....a life that has evolved.
In a collaboration with `pixelcatalyst this is what we present, concepts surrounding this area..it truly is fasinating, who knows what the future holds. Im pleased how it turned out, damn that crazy 2d took me a while...I guess you could say this piece was to celebrate 100k pageviews, it was also released in the latest depthcore pack 'evolution'..
Oh and yes i know this has been ripped 100's of times, and people keep claiming it as theirs or a 'render' but no..pixelcatalyst is the main creator of the model and i did the other work. If you see it elsewhere just note me or pixelcatalyst, cheers..

Very great peice, as mentionned by a few, its a strong reminder of Ghost in the Shell. Great overall feel and detail. I have to ask you though, I have found this peice rendered in a package (the renderer left no signature on it so I dont know who did it exactly) and I was inspired by it, I have made a signature peice in photoshop using the render and only learned later that the peice had been taken off a deviant art gallery. I am terribly sorry if this angers you in anyway and will delete all work I did with the peice if it does, but I wanted to know if I could keep the forum signature if I give full credit to you in my posts/signature space and link to here as well.
Hope to hear from you soon, Winter/BllodMoon/Dom.

Very cool picture.
I've no idea if someone has pointed this out previously, but the first two of those links have commas at the end, which makes them non-functional for many browsers. Removing the comma causes both to work fine, so I assume it was unintentional. Just thought I'd mention.

where to begin. with so much going on in the piece is still holds beautiful clarity. the figure and 3D work is incredible, and the background and view windows at the bottom really add with the graphic element. instant fav. very awesome work.

Is this 100% your own work? The robot as well, or did you get it from a render pack? If this is 100% your own work then this is awesome dude! But I think you should know that someone has put your render in a pack. Sorry, I don't know which one.

^____^ Awesome visual as well as the story/info behind it! I simply adore things that are thought-provoking, and sci-fi-type things for that matter, so of course this is kakkoi to me. (*cough* That means 'wicked cool' in Japanese, eheh...)
I've gotta pass this on to my sister, Couy-Chan--she loves thing about A.I., androids and such. In fact, she's currently working on a story involving androids as main characters.
