Wonderful depth. Sense of distance of the underpass is great. The fact you can only see him and parts of the underpass is brilliant and blacking out every thing. Sort of giving it, it's own atmosphere. The black surrounded as i said, is good. It makes you concentrate more on the object of the photo and the purpose ( that being the guy )
The lighting is good and not to hard. The colour is soft, dark yet stands out well. Great work

i dont like it at all
i know these scenes are supposed to be set up, but this one just isnt working well.
it is cause the person's body position doesnt give any real mood to the scene.
now i just hope someone whore's me for critiquing art!!

Dude thats amazing! You really need to do more photography. You're excellent at it! I love the angle of this one and how its pitch black around the outside. This one says a lot. Great job!

looks very well shot. The foreboding black all around gives a good feel of being all alone, but I would have done something about whatever is at the end of the tunnel. It wouldn't have been that difficult to make the tunnel look much longer.
One last thing, it might have been better to have the guy sit directly beneath the light, instead of off to one side. He would have been covered a little more in shadow that way.
I dunno if you wanted to deviate from the original image that much, but eh, that's just my opinion.

This is a decent piece to my eyes. What's really interesting to me though is that it has an almost painted feel, as if the splotches and noise on the wall has come together.
I was really on the edge between digital painting and photograph until I looked at the category. Well, interesting anyway.

Nice photo.. I like the placing, the guy, the lighitng, all that, but the capture is a bit low quality I reckon... its not bad, its still good, but it seems to be abit.. umm.. well, not so crisp.. it almost looks like its been printed out on printer paper and scanned back in... almost.. its not that bad but thats sorta the look I get..
I'm also thinking that if the contrast was turned up more it would look better.. not much more, but some... blow out the lighting slightly and bring out the darkness even more.. I think it would complement the dark, rank look of the setting.
Also, the wall on the right, just at the edge of the picture, the light patch on it irritates me when looking at it... if you know what I mean.. sorta pulls you away from the focus a bit... it breaks up the continuity of the darkness that is envoloping all the other sides of the picture.
This is a great photo, with a few technical downsides maybe, but hey, your mainly a designer not a full time photographer, so you can't be perfect, atleast not yet
