Description The age of things is altered by perspective, Although the tables in the painting above are exactly the same size and dimensions (on the paper) they are 2 separate years in ones life..To a 4 year old child one year passes slowly as it is at that point a whole quarter of that lifetime , at forty years old 1 year is all too fleeting as it is by then become a fraction of those 40 accumulated years...

its true, time is relative...
and from each persons perspective, its always different.

for some, time goes by slowly, and they seem to be eternally bored while they do nothing in this (seemingly) endless abudance of time...
(it mostly happens to kids, to idle people and/or to people without a specific target/goal/purpose in life...)

for other people, time flies fast, and they are always shocked+surprised by witnessing such a strange fact.
time is running fast, and things that we did years ago seem(sometimes) like they've happened just a few months ago(or quite recently)
many people are in this group, mostly time-conscient people, and people who have a basic understanding of time.

while for others, time is running so fast, that they get desperate about it, and they decide to either live the best way they can with their time, OR they decide to simply let things be.
it often happens to older people, of a really large age.

ah yes, your drawing is a nice visualisation of the 2 notable examples that you have presented in your art piece.
i love how scary and grotesque those creatures look.

you have great skills, and both your shading and your textures look perfect and realistic (in a scary way)...
you did a great work, keep it up, and please do more!

Reminds me of Joseph Beuys. I don't no why really I guess it's the slate slabs and 2x4 benches with the molten figures. There is this life as process that is all twisted like trees and bones. Very cerebral feel to it.

Joseph Bueys? You must look him up!! He did a lot of performance art. Very cerebral stuff. He made sculptures out of lard that were like effigies of bodies. Used many materials that were not your standard art materials. I think he even had a stuffed rabbit and a live horse!! Ah.. the sixties...lol

what kind of noises are you hearing when you come up with these things?

...painting helps keep the noises out...

Chieftx In reply to PeteHamilton [2010-09-06 19:05:13 +0000 UTC]

let me rephrase that. What kind of noises are you hearing IN YOUR HEAD WHEN you paint? I'm just really curious because I feel that everyone has certain noises and sounds that inspire them.

PeteHamilton In reply to Chieftx [2010-09-06 19:26:27 +0000 UTC]

you mean like a soundtrack /moodmusic to the image being put down..I think its silence as what I said before still stands..I dont really have influences to work from now, visual or audial, only ideas and philosophies of my own I want to convey..

Chieftx In reply to PeteHamilton [2010-09-06 22:51:35 +0000 UTC]

huh, I guess it's just me then, sometimes the different sounds and songs sometimes influence the movement and edges in my work.

Yea I know what you mean,NIN is a good soundtrack as its more than just music but I work from internally now.
