Description
in a world where the War of 1812 ended differently, Tecumseh doesn't die in the Battle of Thames, and lives on to establish his confederacy as an ally of the British. Long after he passes though the republic and senate he founds lives on, using similar government styles of Napoleonic France, the USA, as well as the late Haudenosaunee. Primarily led by the Shawnee and Ojibwe, the Federal Republic named in honor of Tecumseh's brother Tenskwatawa has seen significant advancements since their establishment in 1816-17. Industrial might is significant, but Tenskwatawa remains as mostly an agrarian nation. Some industry includes paper-making, medicines, and textiles. As of 1910 the people of Tenskwatawa are undergoing a sort of cultural renaissance, going into a sort of post-classical era of Native-American pagan witchcraft. The theology gained a slew of holy texts, written by a former leader of a Lalawethican Purity creed, which had determined a much less extreme form of the purity philosophy as well as the native religious practices. The European world had still largely considered the Lalawethican movement as a "young religion" in need of counseling and stamping out by Christianity, only to be met with animosity. Priests were not allowed to cross the Ohio River into Tenskwatawa until 1901, and even then there's extreme animosity toward Christianity. Some more progressive philosophers among the people of the country have nonetheless read the Bible and other Abrahamic texts, for guidance and enlightenment into the western mind. This "Post-Lilawethican Explosion" starting in 1907, would spark a whole new era for the pagan faiths of the people. Some of these ideologies had even made their way west into the Plains and the Steppe, sparking non-fundamentalist factions of the religious theology of the Tenskwatawan Pantheon.(TO CLARIFY: "Lilawethican" is the philosophical creed around the Tenskawatawan religion and pantheon of spirits and gods. Essentially they became Anti-Christian pagan zealots that turned away, beat, or slew missionaries and persecuted god-believing Christians within their borders, up until they decided "hey some of these ideas are maybe sort-of cool")
In terms of their military, each state has their own legion, which is also part of a united military. each legion is divided among the states mostly to deal with domestic threats as well as protect the borders; as well as recent expansions westward across the Mississippi as of 1897.
