Description a gentle breeze caresses my cheek.

the nights become a flower in bloom,
the evening hours calm and mild
with the hint of change to come.
calmer dispositions,
all giving in to the inevitable
turning of the seasons.

the leaves of a maple tree change color.

the blazing sun in all its garish splendor
surrenders to the darkness
a bit more at a time now.
with city lights a constant fixture
and city dwellers emerging,
coaxed to join the samhain celebration.

the endless days of summer wane at last.

the urban pulse starts slowing
forced to inhale deeply
and admire the scent of autumn as it
ascends
          rising upward
                     past the jaded denizens
                                   so far away from nature.

but nature calls nonetheless.

its voice beckoning to concrete jungles,
                     ants marching,
and towering monoliths.
wrapped within the blanket of shifting time.
the nocturne whispers soothing words
into its lovers' ears.

another evening in the city.

enchanted spells are cast as fall
brings even the most resistant creatures
full circle
into the first stage of renewal
with blissful slumber and a quiet lullaby,
and the first night of many
seeking warmth within a metropolis.

a gentle breeze caresses my cheek
and brings with it the kiss of life,
turning another page on a calendar
inside the place that i call home.

Autumn is also my favourite season, September my favourite month. Blessed night extends. If I had a choice in the matter it would be Autumn and Spring year round. Very pretty P. Nice one.

Autumn without a doubt is my favorite season. The smell of damp leaves as rain starts to fall and the riot of red and gold and purple inevitably makes me take a deep breath. Beautiful work Peter!

fall is my favorite season
...and not just because I was born
on the first day of it

mine as well.
i was born on the cusp of winter
turning into spring,
but have always held more of an affinity
for this time of year.

happy birthday
a few days early.
