Description i take a breath
inhaling deeper than
i ever have before.

scents which make
their way through
senses dulled.

revitalizing me
illuminating a
hazy consciousness.

flowing through
the passages into
the depths of my soul.

absorbed into
the system, expelled
as a wistful sigh.

the mind conjures
thoughts of who
i am, who i will

be, what to think
and how to feel.
unashamed, i am.

i take a breath
and feel the steady
cadence of my heart.

living within hope,
rising to the
forefront at last.

The theme of this poem is fluidly simplistic, each stanza lulls the reader into a dreamlike state. Great job on this piece very tranquil and well put together.

There are 3 poets here on dA that I aspire to try to write as well as they do. You are one of them. When I write poetry, it's from a place deep within me and it comes out in rhyme. There are some that don't, but for the most part they rhyme. But when I read poetry, it's not the rhyme factor that wows me. Oh, I hope you get the drift of what I'm saying anyway.

rhyming comes easily for me but to put rhyme and rhythm together is harder. My grand daughter have the same taste in poets, I see.

My mind's eye is an active one ... it sees images in all manner of work. In this, I see someone who has risen above their repression ... above their pain ... above their own view of themselves.

"Impressed am I, my friend. Hope for your recovery I have, also."

yes DA has come a long way it seems although I can think of some other things they need to improve.

As for this piece I truly love it. It fits a part of how I feel sometimes.

thank you very kindly, dear. they do seem to have at least made some strides since i have last submitted work here, but i know how dA functions... for every problem solved, there are three which spring up in its wake.

glad you enjoyed it. and thank you for the .
