Description
tonight, the world is a vacuumand i am standing in the center of the universe
watching it all spiral into the void.
oh, to sleep and to dream.
sweet dreams have become nightmares.
oh, pleasant escapes.
holidays are nothing more than fleeting memories.
i gazed inside myself with
telescopic eyes and saw the roads that led
back and forth through my heart.
i gazed around the cosmos and weighed
the mass of planets using the scales
that artistotle and plato fashioned
with socrates waiting in the wings.
i have no notion of solar systems
or why some moons gravitate one to another
while others drift into asteroid belts.
i can only see the sight of two heavenly bodies
as they brush past one another
possibility hanging heavy in the air
before they drift apart to other galaxies.

i like how in the beginning you set up an ideal (to sleep and to dream) and then tear it down with the next line. interesting piece.

Rather well. Working things out with my family is a work in progress, but I am finishing school while living with my family again. And in the meantime I'm going to take some therapy sessions to try and gain some psychological tools to help me out of this emotional rut.
