fragile flesh reborn.
nocturnal senses that awaken
push me forth from sweetest slumber
into nightmares untold.

the ticking of a heartbeat
stills its cadence to a halt.

smells all around me,
one in particular excites my senses.
that which i once was;
i am the predator to their prey.

useless breaths rattle around a
brutally vacant chest

tasting life in crimson;
the serpent with pointed fangs.
bloodletting into bloodlust,
consuming until there is no more.

my soul clamors within me,
but death is all it finds.

curse of immortality
no longer human, i rise
and take the devil by the hand
as he leads me forth into the night.

the vampire occupies the flesh now,
as death becomes the evil angel.
