This is beautiful. It spoke to me because of the cuteness at the end. All intimate moments need that cute factor.

Denise-Tanka poems are short, lyrical poems structured in 31 syllables. They are generally 5 lines arranged in a two part form, the first part in 5, 7, 5, syllables, and the second part in 7 and 7. Most importantly, they must convey feelings and emotions in a way that that is felt so deeply as to suggest they are beyond words.
Peter...I have rarely had the pleasure of reading someone with your ability and command over the written word. And I would say you have readily mastered Tanka.
Fingertips on porcelein...I see it...feel it.
Wonderful.

I am delighted it was as tactile as I had hoped it would be. And I have a bit of work to do in mastering it, but playing with the haiku has gone a long way in helping. You are gracious, dear.

I'm not familiar with tanka, so cannot comment on the form. I loved the visual though. Memorizing skin was my favorite line.

Look at how much we learn from Helen Keller.

I can never hear that name now without thinking of Jason with a smile. Ask your lady friend to explain, if need be.
