Description

Ink on A3

This image is for a colouring in project that will take place on St Patrick’s day. Crom Cruah was not a pivotal figure in Irish myth and legend. His followers gained more attention than he did. Anyone who worshipped Crom Cruah was said to be remarkably sadistic and savage. The name inspired fear in ancient Ireland, so in my rendition, I represented him as a physically striking and demonic force. There is no devil or adversary in Irish myth and legend, so I saw Crom Cruah as an opportunituy to depict a celtic character in this style, and I’m mad for horror so it was great to express that scary material in myth.

Thanks very much- it's for a colouring project on St Patrick's day - I can imagine the tattoo patterns in luminous colours like they're glowing with power!
