this is great! do you have instructions for this model?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

PeteriDish In reply to origamipaul [2014-06-24 07:33:14 +0000 UTC]

thanks!
I will probably disappoint you though, I have a crease pattern available for the simplified (original) version without toes or eyes, I am working on diagrams for that version at the moment. neither cp nor diagrams are available for this version yet, but crease pattern should be available soon...ish...

origamipaul In reply to PeteriDish [2014-06-24 15:01:45 +0000 UTC]

I'm usually better with diagrams, but if the crease pattern ever becomes available I would love to give it a try!ย  it looks like it could be challenging for my skill level, but I would try anyway
(and this model would be totally AWESOME whether it has eyes/toes or not)

Go to a hotel and ask if you can bring your pets inside holding this thing... Man, I have crazy ideas...
But seriously, this is wonderful, it looks really good!
And I must be annoying, adding all these comments simultaneously...

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

PeteriDish In reply to JWArtwork [2013-06-18 14:09:04 +0000 UTC]

no I'm glad you're commenting!
and you don't have crazy ideas at all! I have actually thought of buying a guitar case so I can carry the model around and have it protected, and I thought of going into the bank with the guitar case and go to the bank clerk and tell her that it is not a guitar I hasve inside and look at her all serious XD I wonder what she would do... XD

JWArtwork In reply to PeteriDish [2013-06-18 15:39:09 +0000 UTC]

Like in a bank robbery? *Police comes* "The game is over! Now be a nice fella and open that guitar case for us, young man, and hand us over what's inside. Guys of your age shouldn't be handling stuff like that!" *You open case and hand over Diplocaulus* Cop: "What the f*ck!?"

Oh, I know more, believe me! Wanna know how to annoy Christians while in debate Write "me", "my", "mine" and "i" with a capital letter ("Me", "My", "Mine", "I"), while giving "His", "Him", "Bible" and "God" with a small letter ("his", "him", "bible", "god"). It annoys the crap out of them!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

PeteriDish In reply to JWArtwork [2013-06-18 16:21:22 +0000 UTC]

if I only were still active in debates... XD
I have gotten to the point of not being even slightly amused... XD

I don't even want to buy what they sell, so why bother? XD

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

JWArtwork In reply to PeteriDish [2013-06-18 19:37:52 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it can be fun, tho. The point is, these debates take forever... It just doesn't stop, every time being persuaded, man...

I'm currently having occasional talks with this religion teacher from my school (for which I sent you the stuff), but sometimes they have such weird arguments. He asked "What are you looking for?" I answer "The truth" "Well, you've got it right here." and cites Jesus saying "I am light, life and the truth." But it's a really friendly guy.

I must say I like most Christians a lot for being such extremely friendly people (usually). The problem is they're so brainwashed, and not doing it out of themselves, but because they feel God determines their morality and they just follow orders actually. It's kinda sad actually. If only we could combine the friendy character of the average Christian with the brightness of an atheist, imagine our societies, they'd function like shitloads better!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

PeteriDish In reply to JWArtwork [2013-06-18 20:26:22 +0000 UTC]

that's the surprising thing about them. I agree they are usually very kind if they are not the batshit crazy zealous type, but they sometimes say things that make my jaw drop. They are so deeply indoctrinated they don't even realize what they are saying, or they don't realize what it sounds like to someone who doesn't share their religion.

but if they are not protesting against abortion, aren't homophobic, don't practice boy circumcision and don't fly planes into buildings, I am fine with all religious people XD

u mad brah? XD I only decided to make this lifesized because 1 meter was still a managable size, I wouldn't even think of making anything bigger in 1:1 scale XD

I am acually thinking of focusing on mesozoic marine reptiles as my next project/model series. there still aren't any realistic plesiosaurs or pliosaurs, all I am aware of are just very stylised models (nothing wrong with that, at least that gives me room to add something new in the mix XD) and the same is true for ichthyosaurs. I think I have yet to see an origami ichthyosaur that actually looks like an ichthyosaur... XD and nothosaurus hasn't been done yet at all! I am really excited for that one, it looked like a lizard's attempt to become a sea lion XD
I have also designed a model of tanystropheus and I have already folded it, but that was just a draft, I still have to decide whether i want to redesign it before making a final fold or not, but I think I can make it more efficient, so I want to try

and I have an actual comission on my hands too, I'll be making a (SMALL!!!) model of Daeodon (a horse-sized predatory pig with a meter-long skull) for my friend's son.

ocean animals are really under-origamied... i guess it's because of their structure?
if i may name, nautilus are seldom seen too... looking forward to your ichtyosaurus.. good luck.
