Description
Here there is what the majority of my sketches "in fact" looks like, and I oftenly have multiple animals overlapping each other, so now you know what I go through to bring you the "clean" picturesHere is a "paddled" version of the filter feeder, I personally think I will keep both designs, one more "usual" and one more "alien".
You can see I was experimenting with four or six "wings" to see what you'll like better, but I am leaning towards the four-flippered version, I think it still look "alien enough" and I like the tail section with the hindlegs being short.
This will be followed by another version where I played with ta skin apttern a bit, but I'm still swimming in the "black and white" waters. Even though that, I hope you'll like it!

It would be cool to have some "side-swimming" animals there though! I was thinking about it on various occasions, but no success so far... =/

If I wanted to put things to extreme, I would make this fella "side-swimming", or a yet another one which would be quite similar other than that, just with different flipper proportions and "twisted" head, but I guess such thing would be more likely in a smaller creature. (some flatfish and kin" are quite big though...

Yeah, they can get rather big...

Yeah, I have heard of it, it would be nice to incorporate similar "cephalon" to some of my deep sea "fish" too, but I don't like to "rip off" what earth has without "twisting" it a bit... I know many people don't know that fish, but I wouldn't like if the inspired animal looked too much like it.
Any suggestions?
I mean, the animal could have a similar head, but for a different reason. Any ideas?

And maybe it won't be a bad idea to have a sunfish-like animal with such a feature!
The "fish" flap their tails up and down, so I fugure that the "flatenned" species would be "naturally" wider than tall like rays with eyes on the top without no "twisting" needed. (But I don't know if there is a relation between the way the tail flaps and the way the body flattens)
But to keep things more "weird", I keep thinking of the "fish" as originally curcular in cross section, but with many species with "flat" cross sections.

It would be pretty cool.
Sounds like a good plan

But it would be cool to have a "taller than wide" animal with "twisted" head
