Description
Here there is what the majority of my sketches "in fact" looks like, and I oftenly have multiple animals overlapping each other, so now you know what I go through to bring you the "clean" picturesHere is a "paddled" version of the filter feeder, I personally think I will keep both designs, one more "usual" and one more "alien".
You can see I was experimenting with four or six "wings" to see what you'll like better, but I am leaning towards the four-flippered version, I think it still look "alien enough" and I like the tail section with the hindlegs being short.
This will be followed by another version where I played with ta skin apttern a bit, but I'm still swimming in the "black and white" waters. Even though that, I hope you'll like it!

It must be a very effective predator. Those fins can be used tangentally for maneuvering or in unison for power/speed. I love the variability!

exactly! I guess it would be quite manueverable, but I don't know if it would be really quick, it's supposed to be about 15 m long animal in a whale niche

Even at that size, it can be very fast; just look at liopleurodon. And being fast can really help large whales: take humpbacks, when other predators round up schools of fish into bait balls, they charge it as fast as they can to gulp down the fish.

Yeah, the arm is quite all right now, thanks!
It started to hurt a bit again though, I guess I started too soon and sketched too much today I still have to take it easy with my "wounded appendage..." :megalol:
The pattern drawing took me a long time

Just wondering if you're filter feeders have predators?

PeteriDish In reply to OblivionJunkey94 [2012-03-21 19:53:12 +0000 UTC]
well I gave you an indirect answer, didn't I? I guess some predators will take one of them down occassionaly, but there would be no "exclusive 'whale' feeders" as there are "fish eaters", the apex predators might be big enough to hunt them, but they would hunt other animals too - orcas eat small sharks, penguins, seals, fish...
