Built in 1712 by Abraham Hasbrouck in New Paltz, NY. The patentee, once a soldier in the English Army, was a friend of Sir Edmund Andros, an English colonial administrator in North America. He was governor of the Dominion of New England during most of its three-year existence. His actions in New England resulted in his overthrow during the 1689 Boston revolt.
