That's where the do unto others thing comes in for me. I wouldn't mind Jeff kidding around with gutter talk but I know he keeps his mind and heart out of it so I do the same.....I would be upset if he put his mind in the gutter often because we have a unique relationship and we share all levels. I won't even think anything that I wouldn't tell him and if I accidentally do I tell him. Something happened where I was keeping something I thought was innocent from him when we were first dating because I thought he might take it the wrong way and it snowballed and I vowed to never let that happen again so now my mind is an open book.

I have - at times - met some women, besides my ex, whom I felt were potential soulmates but either I was married or they were already involved with someone else. I'm pretty confident that it will happen again - and that we will both be in a place where we can take advantage of it - but until then I have to remain patient and not just settle for a relationship out of convenience. Unfortunately, patience is not my strong suit! The last woman I was seeing was such a relationship. We got along pretty well (except for my excessive drinking) but there was no special spark, no real love involved - at least from my end. The amazing women that I have found in the recent past tend to be manic: I was also at those times, and it makes for a very exciting relationship; however, I don't think that that kind of excitement can be continued long term. It also tends to involve a very expensive lifestyle, not something I can afford right now, what with both of my daughters starting college in the fall and me being liable for about $100,000 towards their college educations over the next four years - money which I have no idea where I can come up with except to either work my ass off even more than I now do, or go very deeply into debt (something I have worked very hard - and successfully - at avoiding up until now), or - more likely - some combination of both. If I survive the next 4 years relatively intact financially (and physically!) life should become much easier...

I have! I met a number of women thru online dating...The one before last I really fell for, but she didn't feel the same way. The last one I had a relationship with for a few months but she broke it off because of my drinking. I wasn't upset because there was no real connection there (for me, at least). It was fun while it lasted but I didn't really miss her at all after it was over. I'll possibly try it again when I have more free time and disposable income.
