Oh, I chose what I thought was my favorite until I saw this one: 
Surely you still believe in beauty, my friend? From my perspective, all things: trees, water, rocks, animals, and yes people too have souls of some kind. I've been reaching for my own definition, composing a portrait with myriad names, including science. Where did all of earth and her cycles originate? A mystery undefined by any one hypothesis or creed, surely. Still, no atheist here, not anymore.

That's a beautiful shot, with nice, rich, warm colors.
If I may, I will tell you how I feel that this shot is about "essential" : something like, you can find your own essence in nature... And in this shot, your essence is your shadow... ephemeral, immaterial. Yet that is your essence. Just like the soul.
