Description
DAKINI - Concept of scifi handgun
Another item to my collection. It is DEW - energy design. Not projectile based design. I followed standart profile with stream lines and dynamic feelings.
It is usual work. Concept, modeling and rendering is mine. Work has been done in 3ds max, engine is vray, model is highpoly.
I did 2 pictures
1.Dakini main - peterku.deviantart.com/art/Dak…
2. Dakini secondary - peterku.deviantart.com/art/Dak…
So what do you like it or not? Tnx for comments if any.

Great work! Can I ask how many polys one of those are? And how difficult the UV unwrapping was?

dont know how many polys but not much. it could be done on old notebook as well. and unwraping wasnt difficult. when most surface are close to plain then it goes quickly.

then you care too much for unwraping. It doenst need to be great to work. If unwraping takes you a lot of time then you make mistake somehow.....

Haha, probably. How do you unwrap highpoly models though? When I have too many polys the uv editor get very slow and can even crash.

then your model are too complex. I have never had such large modeled object that PC crashed while unwraping. And I dont have high-end computer. Unwrap make on model before turbosmooth or subdivisions. There is no need to make unwraping on highpoly models.

These look great. If they were real guns I'd buy them just to have in my personal collection.
Keep it up.

Very nice. The only thing I'd recommend is adding some sort of texture to the grip. While the smooth surface looks nice, for function, it's not a great idea in a firearm grip.
