interesting design, judging by the color, i could guess that its a construction tool

I laughed when i saw this, but now that I imagine holding, it's probably kinda comfortable if it's held close to the body, like near your stomach. One hand supports it by gripping the silver area on bottom, and your other hand naturally wants to be at the angle the grip is at.

hi mate. when I did this I think on game dead space. maybe you played it or not but in this game there were several guns of this type. holding by two hands in the height of stomach.Β

redwolfradolf [2016-02-22 02:12:03 +0000 UTC]

Unless it works best when fired at an angle, the positioning of the grip vs the position of the nozzle would make aiming the thing a pain.

rofl as if you need to aim a flamethrower

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

redwolfradolf In reply to DarkTailss [2016-07-21 15:04:19 +0000 UTC]

You have to at least aim it a little bit. Β Plus, flamethrowers don't shoot a wide cone of flame, they usually fire a stream of flaming fuel. Β That would mean you'd need to aim it, either at the firing slits in a bunker of the viewslits of a tank, for best effect.
With this handle, pointing it straight would require you to hold your wrist at an awkward angle. Β I dunno how heavy this thing's supposed to be, but if it's got some bulk to it, your wrist will be hurting.

I like the concept, and it'd be fun to use this in a game. However it does look really heavy and awkward, I think adding a counterweight or a forearm brace would add a bit more believablity to it

Tulsatrash [2012-11-02 04:02:21 +0000 UTC]

I'm guessing its designs for use in reduced gravity environments? Either that or its lighter than it looks and so not awkward.

designed for dead space environment. probably know that game.

i was actually going to ask if you got any inspiration from dead space! owo
it looks great and i feel that this design is superior to the flame thrower of dead space 2
i really like the somewhat scratched out stickers on the side

I don't mean to be rude, but isn't the exit nozzle emplacement a bit... impractical? Or is it done to give it a more 'spray'-like feel?

peterku In reply to VigilNebula [2012-10-17 09:58:25 +0000 UTC]

no need to apologize for critic. I tried for new design. Never built real version

Streaked-Silver [2012-03-26 21:25:34 +0000 UTC]

how do you hold on to this? ..it appears to me the tank handle on the top is used for removing the tank, it looks like it would he heavy enough to warrant a second grip on it, not to mention the odd grip angle for the flame projector makes it so you'd spray the ceiling if you held it like a rifle or pistol..

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

peterku In reply to Streaked-Silver [2012-03-29 17:44:08 +0000 UTC]

easily. in my case carry the gun in the left hand and hold grip with right...
