Funny but true story about my mother and "A New Hope" - When it hit theaters in 1977, she and a friend went to see it at the IMax in Seattle and they had the option of waiting for the later showing (the line for which wrapped around the block), or take the last two seats in the center of the front row.Ā They opted for front and center since mom had to get me from day care afterwards (I was 2 1/2 at the time) and my father would be getting off work then.Ā Mom got sea sick from watching a 30 foot Darth Vader walking down the corridor in the movie.Ā XD
Fast forward to Halloween 1977 - Mom and I were at a family friend's house and all the kids were asleep after Trick-Or-Treating and mom n Sharon were getting hungry.Ā So, mom heads over to a fast food place and sees Darth Vader, Princess Lea, and someone else get out of a car to head into the burger place as she was heading to her car.Ā She chuckled and got in the car, and as she started it up, she heard a knock on her window.Ā She looks up to see Vader, deep breathing and all, right outside the car beckoning for her to roll down the window.Ā She screamed and high tailed it, hearing Vader's deep laugh echo after her.Ā XD
She was giggling quite a bit by the time she got back to Sharon's house; the more she thought about it, the more she was giggling.

You were 2 1/2 when you saw Star Wars?Ā Surely you couldn't have got anything out of it at that age.Ā I realize you've seen it after that but if you hadn't you would not have remembered any of it.

But I do have many fond memories of growing up watching the original trilogy at home.Ā XDĀ I had a close friend who was a huge Star Wars fan like me, but he died in January '98 and never saw the prequel trilogy.Ā So, I went to all three at the theater and bought an extra ticket just for him and insisted that said ticket stubs NOT be torn off because they were for him.Ā I still have them too.

HELLO! This OLD man remembers going to see this movie at Maple Hill Mall Theaters in Kalamazoo, Michigan when it first came out.
WORD had spread about it BIG time already and there were LINES out the doors to nearly the highway.
