Description
On August 27 2009 Microsoft released a new update KB971029 which upgrades your shell32 version to 6.0.29005853. You can read about it here:[link]
This update adds win7 autoplay functionality to XP. But you will loose all your modifications. So i decided to modify this new shell, that you can get the new function with all the modifications.
This download contains 3 files:
the shell32.dll
Replacer for a save change of the shell

After installing the new shell go to: Desktop/properties/ appearence/ advanced. Set the colour for 3D objects to 252 252 252. Thanks to Joack

If you find any error please tell me, that i can fix it.
If you like it give it a try.
Btw. The size of the shell is now 28 MB which is 7MB less than the version before, and 12MB less than 2 versions before for faster loading.

ok im trying to get my exe to play these shell files but nothing shows up when i open my exe.With what i can convert them and what codec profile so they can show up on my exe?

I am not sure what you mean. Do you want to convert this to another language? If yes, be careful. This can mess up your system.

Open the shell with reshacker. Extract the avis. After that open your shell with reshacker and import them. That's all.

yeah i do,that but the AVI's i made are in a different codec,so they dont show up :/

yes i can,but not in the exe,cant just start trying with all possible codecs but i found out that its recomended to use Microsoft RLE codec for res avi's but i dont know with what i can encode them

You are right. It is RLE, but i can't remember anymore which prog it was.

Seems there are a lot of shellnumbers available.But they have all the same content.
I have remade the new shell by microsoft. There is no other way, or you must rewrite the complete code of the shell.

for me i have the version 6.0.2900.5622, can i replace my custom shell32 6.0.2900.5512; cause I do not want to start over my shell32. think I can just replace the version number with reshack, and you think that I have to redo and sharing?

It is no problem to change the version number. But it makes no sense. It is a question of security. This shell is made to protect the user against attacks from the internet. If you don't want to upgrade it is useless to change the number because it brings no functionality. Simply google for KB971029 and you will see, what it is good for. Than you can decide what to do. It is not much work to import the ressources, if you still have a modded shell.

I don't know what i do ,cause i have made the update of microsoft and my version is 6.0.2900.5622,not the same at yours.

Hatte ja insgeheim auf Dich gehofft. Schön, dass Du das probieren willst. Deskmodding ist ja schön, aber die Sicherheit sollte nicht vernachlässigt werden.Deine Beanstandungen habe ich berücksichtigt. Wär mal interesssant zu wissen, ob die Darstellung des Ordnerlöschendialogs jetzt bei Dir korrekt dargestellt wird. Wichtig ist auch die Umstellung der Farbeinstellung. Damit sollte der blassgraue Hintergrund in manchen Dialogen erledigt sein.Keine Ahnung, wie ich das jemals gut machen soll. Danke im Voraus.

Das ist ja Gedankenübertragung!! Gerade wollte ich Dir ein note schicken, um Dir zu schreiben, dass der Bug beim Ordner löschen endlich weg ist! Juchhuu!
Die einzige, winzige Unschönheit, die ich bisher beim Kopieren-Dialog gefunden habe, ist der etwas verschmierte Rand des Pfeil-Buttons ("weniger Informationen"). Kaum der Rede wert, mach' Die kein' Kopf deshalb!
Auf "252-weiß" habe ich übrigens auch direkt umgestellt (gute Sache), nur weiß ich nicht wirklich, ob es nötig war den Iconcache zu revitalisieren. Hab's einfach mal gemacht und keine Veränderung festgestelt, außer dass meine Desktop-Icons verschoben waren (kein Thema: Ich hab' ja den DIM (Desktop-Icon-Manager) für solche Fälle.

Die Refreshfunktion braucht man eigentlich nur, wenn man zum ersten Mal so eine Datei installiert, oder wenn grössere Änderungen am Iconbestand vorgenommen wurden. Das Ding löscht nur den Iconcache und Windows baut ihn neu auf. Dass die Icons dabei ihre Position verlieren ist normal. Je nach Menge kann das allerdings ärgerlich sein.
Das mit dem Pfeil ist lustig, weil die angesprochene Bitmap von meinem Win7 kommt. Werde das mal an MS weiterleiten (Spässel). Mal sehen was sich da machen lässt.

Ehrlich gesagt weiss ich auch nicht so genau wie das läuft. Dieses Update ist ganz neu (vorgestern) und vorerst noch optional. Ich hab es bereits installiert (wie sollte ich sonst an die Shell kommen). Keine Ahnung ob der Updatedienst die Shell erkennt und das Update ausblendet. Wahrscheinlich aber nicht. Ich denke der Dienst nutzt das Updateverzeichnis. Schlimmstenfalls musst Du es manuell ausblenden bzw. die Shell danach nochmal installieren.

Ist schon erstaunlich, dass die Microsoft-Entwickler auch design-technisch bisweilen so nachlässig arbeiten...
