EDIT: Wow! 100 favourites? How the hell did this happen when I just quickly scratched down some doodles on a paper and shaded them? @_@I feel like celebrating and yet not copying Banished Prince's +100 traditions so I'll think about it ....
I can give a million examples on why Zuko should never be put in a situation where him telling a lie is vital... things as "YES we're travellers!" and "We were part of... this... travelling... circus" are just a few of them. It amused me in the latest episode when Azula asks him if Aang is still alive and he takes so much time to be quiet and have a flashback, turning his head dramatically to think... no wonder Azula's the one in control.

Well, in Zuko's defence, I imagine the flashback wasn't in real time. Still....
The shading is quite effective.

Heheh yes I think they might've done it on purpose, all the dramatic pausing, looking to the side, seeming thoughtful... Zuko's kind of melodramatic when it comes to his own image, and I think Azula'sj ust always been looking right through him because of it...

both episodes were over when I watched them (all of them in a few days, I was ill and had nothing else to do) so I didn't follow the rise of the fandom...

XD, Yes, the snowball effect certainly seems to be gaining Zuko more and more fangirls. And I didn't follow the fandom either, I got into it sometime in the early-middle part of the second season. After the season finale, I really went back and made sure to watch and in some cases re-watch all the episodes XD There were a few real stink bombs though, including a few fillers in the first season...

Yeah, the fillers weren't great, some of the episodes bored me (and still do). It's so good for a childrens show though, I'm super impressed.

It's my favorite show right now. But just imagine: If it HADN'T been designed for kids. Aaahhhh, the possibilities.

It would make a really epic story, but sometimes I wonder if the kids-thing is what appeals to people, it's kind of its charm that it's so innocent. I mean had it been for adults, the horrors of all kinds of bending would have been revealed, there'd be a lot more focus on the dying in the war, and it'd just generally be gorier. I like that kind of thing too, but Avatar's so innocent and more focused on the characters and having fun. What I love about it is how I keep 'aaw'ing and laughing because I care so much for the characters.

Yeah, I think you're onto something there. It's so detailed and well-planned and there is drama and sad parts, but it's not uber-gory and there's always a bit of light-heartedness to balance the sad.

I mainly like it because it makes me laugh. Sokka's so brilliant at times, I love that guy too n_n he's just making a fool out of himself so obviously, as to where Zuko is just funny because he's a drama queen - it makes it easier to make fun of him.
