I think DeviantArt messed with this pic. There used to be more contrast, I believe.I've been wanting to upload this for a while now. This is another picture taken by my mother (Ellen Cuylaerts), one that became her most popular. It has been featured in blogs and magazines, entered competitions and we've even had the honor of seeing friends trying (and failing) to mimic it for laughs.
This was a lucky shot, especially seeing how I was actually modeling for my father and I barely heard my mom telling me to dive. I think my face looks weird here, but still. It's painful to keep your eyes open in salt water for an hour straight x3 After my parents return from Indonesia (I believe—they're leaving next month, uncle is coming over to feed us) my mom wants to try this again, this time even better. I don't mind. Stingrays are fun.
Sorry for the giant and obvious watermark. Even though my mom gave me permission to post this, I'm afraid someone might try to steal her work, so extra-large watermark just for that x3

I apologize for the late response; real life has been quite hectic for the past few months.
Thank you so much for your kind comments! The sea is indeed lovely, and marine life has always intrigued me—particularly cephalopods and sharks. I hope you get the chance to truly experience the ocean someday, and that you will not be disappointed by what you find

Unfortionally I never get the chance to do things I really wish I could do in life. Always very lost and only getting older but even if I never get the chance one day, I'll always LOVE the sea. I've always been intrigued mostly by Dolphins. I always dream of being there. Noting would be more fun the going for a long scuba dive in The waters of Hawaii or the Bahamas. Where I live the ocean is super cold and I never get to swim. But it always captivates me when I see the ocean. I feels like home.

It is home, in a certain sense; all of our lives depend on the ocean. It saddens me to see so many people neglect or ignore that, which is why me and my family take advantage of these opportunities to create awareness. Knowing that there are people like you out there—not physically close to the seas, yet still dreaming and caring—gives me hope that the earth and its vast seas can still be saved

Thank you. I do get to see the Ocean sometimes. Sometimes I take a trip to San Francisco and go to the beach to see the Pacific Ocean to be close to my true home the sea. Every time I see the sea it makes me ache inside because I wish sooo much that I can just jump in and swim away. Ever since I fell deeply in love with the Ocean, I've felt like a merman traped in a human body. I've always felt very lost on land and wish I can do things like scuba diving and interacting with sealife. I honestly wish I was a merman and could live the Ocean forever. Its very evnious to see you get to go out there. Even though I don't get to be there my love for the sea will never die. To me theres no place as beautiful, magicial and peaceful as the ocean.
