Colour pencil portrait of Phoenix, Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) from the X-Men film series. Famke Janssen is a Dutch born actress who has appeared in a number of movies which include Taken and GoldenEye in which she appeared on Xenia Onatopp.Portrait drawn with Faber-Castell Polychromos and Derwent artist colour pencils on 160gsm smooth art card.

I always study your treatment of the different textures in your pieces. Love the hair color and how you portrayed the silkiness in her locks. My favorite is the hair swirling around on her shoulder.
Also the jacket/coat has a heaviness, whereas the blouse has a lighter feel. Don't know if I should talk about her face, because you always capture that Paul. And the colors you've selected go well together.

I guess one of the main reasons for choosing the reference was for the hair, there is a lot of movement in there. I like trying to capture the textures so I'm delighted you like to study them, it means a lot, Thanks
