Interesting how by 1975 there is a return to traditional styles from half a century earlier. That happens a lot in real life.

Yes, the US Army bringing blue back is an example. The Portuguese gendarmerie brought back their old style uniforms sometime during last century, so did the Chilean gendarmerie. The Canadian armed forces are returning to British style uniforms and ranks next year. The case I know best is, in 1986 the General Military Academy in Spain changed parade dress uniforms fromΒ this Β (man on the left) back toΒ this Β which was the first uniform of the academy in 1882.

That's cool.
I think the reason for this is to bring back some kind of individuality into the military. In my opinion most of the uniforms thruought the counties look identical in our days. In many cases they differ only by the colour, insignia and badges. SOmetimes the headgear is slightly different too. But in general its like all countries uses those old British WWI pattern.
