Okay, I'm just gonna say it...
Your faces have dropped in quality over the last couple years.Β I think this one shows a prime example of that.Β It's like you are trying to pursue a more naturalistic shape and proportion, but still drawing it with cartoonish style for the features and contours.Β I can look at some of your earliest pictures, and while the contours and proportions seem like a more generic cartoonish style, it still winds up actually looking better.Β But this just doesn't seem to know what it wants to be.

I love how dynamic the pose is, as well as how you've obscured part of the body yet one can still tell what she is. I also like how alive the work feels, as in how her spidery legs seem to be in motion as they support her weight similar to the instinctive movements of an arachnid, and how her human half is much more settled, drawing distinctiveness from their differing origins. I feel like a detail that could use a touch of work are is the main face, it feels a bit off to me personally, though everyone has a differing style. I love your attention to detail, however, as in the seemingly correct muscles and structure. Well done!

Her lower body is obscured mainly because I wanted a close-up, something that could show her facial details up close, since the focus of the picture is really her expression, and her pose really only exists to support and emphasize it.Β But at the same time, if you get too close, you lose the point of the picture.Β So her face is right on the left-side third-line (actually intersecting the bottom third-line too), and the rest of her body just sweeps away to become the background.Β It's interesting how dynamic she looks given how static her pose really is.Β She's very nearly just resting, but the J-shaped spinal curvature makes her look much more active than she really is.
And yes, the face isn't quite right, mostly in the chin, but I really like how her eyes and hair turned out.Β I'll probably fix it if I ever get around to coloring her

I might, or might not.Β I dunno.Β Hadn't really gotten that far.Β If you want to, though, you certainly may.Β I always take it as a HUGE compliment when anybody wants to color anything I've drawn β seriously, I have notifications that are more than a year old that I just stare at sometimes in wonderment.Β Whether it's painted like da Vinci or crayoned like da kindergartner, if you want to color it, feel free to knock yourself out
