Description "Hey, Firewall, are stakeouts always this boring?"

"This is the fifth time you've asked and the fifth time I've said, yeah, they are."

What? Something that isn't PMD-E related? About time.

So, this is actually my oldest OC (though ironically my youngest) that I still draw today. He's also the only OC I still draw that resides in a fandom. I wrote his story summer 2008, and man was that a blast to write, even if it was all over the place. I can't seem to forget about this guy, and through the years, I thought of a better and revised story for him. Well, it's not much of a story, but it's certainly better than the original where he was just one emotional mess.

There's an old sketch of Aiden in my scraps, actually. Also if you're bold enough, you can dig up the original draft I wrote that I posted on a Pokemon forum. It reached around 200 pages on MS Word? Told you it was fun to write.

Let me give you a basic rundown of him. This is more for my own benefit, so you can just skip this if you want:

Name: Aiden Wilde

Age: 14

Strengths: He's very kind and loves to help his friends. Aiden has never been one to hold grudges. Though he's not particularly intelligent, he likes to approach things as calmly and carefully as possible.

Weaknesses: He's insecure and painfully shy at first. Aiden tends to doubt his abilities and decisions. Because he's young, he can be rather naive about people and how the world works.

History:

Some time ago, in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon universe, Aiden, as a Bulbasaur, and his Squirtle partner saved the world. His job fulfilled, Gardevoir's spirit sent him back to the human world with no memory of his adventures and with his Pokemon self locked firmly in him. There, slowly, Aiden returned to his normal life. Suzy, his best friend, was his lifesaver and reintroduced him to his old life.

Yet the normalcy was broken. Gardevour's hold on his Pokemon self was breaking, and Aiden was slowly losing his humanity. He could suddenly call plants to life. His eyes and patches of his skin would sometimes change color. Before he could fully control these new abilities, Team Rocket caught wind of him and kidnapped him for their own selfish needs. There, he was given a choice: join Team Rocket in exchange for a serum that would him his Pokemon-side in check or go back and risk becoming a monster. Unable to handle his family and Suzy seeing him like that, Aiden chose the former.

Now he works as a Rocket grunt, going undercover and stealing Pokemon. Every couple of days he gets injected with a serum that keeps his other side in check while still allowing him use of his abilities. The serum, of course, is not perfect, so he occasionally gets stuck with patches of scales and red eyes (in place of his usual green.)

Abilities

Seeing as his Pokemon half is a Bulbasaur, Aiden's abilities are plant based. With help from some dirt and water, he can grown seeds from his palms. These can grown into vines that can either latch onto objects, be manipulated (such as to open locks), or become a Leech Seed.

Aiden can also understand Pokemon.

Pokemon

Firewall is the Porygon2. While surfing the Rocket's mainframe from computer to computer, he stumbled upon a kid in a cage. To his surprise, the kid could actually understand him! When Aiden became a Grunt, he pleaded for them to allow Firewall as his Pokemon. Seeing as how Firewall was a rather failed experiment (he malfunctioned occasionally, especially in the humidity), they gave him to him.

Firewall is the talker of the group. He can make a joke about anything and can be rather frank. Though he can be quite aloof, he's rather close and protective of Aiden and his other Pokemon, Cooper.

{Firewall was a Porygon in the original draft, but he became a Porygon2 for some reasons:

1. Porygon are a nightmare to draw consistently, or draw at all really.

2. Porygon2 is actually my favorite of the Porygon line.

3. Porygon2, according to the Dex, exhibit actions that were not originally programmed. This description fits Firewall better.}

------

Cooper is the Bronzor. Not much is known about him. Firewall says that he was heavily experimented on, and as a result, can only function when given commands. He doesn't speak and can only express the most basic of emotions. Before Aiden, Firewall would take him with him during his mainframe expeditions.

Cooper likes to be close to Aiden, and can be seen snuggling when out of his Poke Ball.

I drew Aiden looking bored, but then again, he kind of looks melancholy, too. He does get rather homesick.

Time to do my other OCs. Sometime this century.

That sounds like a pretty cool idea for a character! I've never really thought about what would happen if the PMD character actually turned back into a human. That the Pokemon part of him would still be there is pretty interesting. :0

Also Firewall is the best name for a Porygon.

Can you tell I've always loved the PMD games? But yeah, I had a lot of fun coming up with it all.

And yes, Firewall is the best name ever for a Porygon. Everyone can go home now. :> Haha, Firewall was probably surfing the mainframe, stumbled upon a firewall, and said, "Yep, that'll be my name."
