Yes... it's very very sloppy.SAI apparently is cool... but I still need to get a hold of all the other things about it... but it's a bit easier to do lineart with tablets on SAI... rlly wish photoshop had better pen simulation

I think there's something called "watercolor tool" or something on SAI. Try to find that. I think that's majorly responsible for the smooth watercolor-y shadings and the overall otakuishness of the SAI pictures. Of course, I may be wrong 
Unless watercoloryness is not to your taste, of course. But best of luck with improving

I found the watercolor tool, but it made the picture all weird...
And I got so used to all the photoshop shortcuts, I keep pressing the wrong tools, so I have to click on them instead.

um... express keys, like if you press "B" you get brush, and if you press "E" you get the eraser. I also found out you can make your own custom commands with the F1 - F12 keys. Been using it since January, and vectoring is so much faster now.

Wow... I am embarrassed to admit, but I have zero patience for vectoring Give me a Pen Tool and I will laugh. xD
Which is why tablet is a godsend to me. \o/

It's so weird, my rendering preferences keep changing every year. Two years ago was plain tablet drawing, albeit awfully, and then last year was all vectors, and this year, it's back to tablet only coloring. Now I only use vectors for making logos and other graphics stuff for my team'a promotional stuff (got officially dubbed as the team's graphic designer this year ^^).
