Description
Two Black Guards flanked either side of Ruse as they lead her through the twisting halls of Clu’s flagship. Everything around her glowed a yellowy orange, reflecting Clu’s regime. Her own suit glowed orange, a code of the Creator’s to deceive the enemy. How she longed to be change the circuitry back to the white which glowed brightly while she lived with Flynn. She felt something for the User. Ever since she had come back from her first mission and he had admitted his fatherly affections towards her, she clung to him. Now, she glanced down at her wrists and the glowing cuffs clapped around them with distaste. Caught. How embarrassing.
However, she smirked slightly when she remembered the fight. She had gone down admirably, taking down at least ten guards as they surrounded her, baton and disc in hand. Her greatest challenge had been Rinzler. Still, she had lasted quite a few minutes with Clu’s enforcer before falling, thanks to the additional codes that Flynn had added after her last mission.
Besides, the guards and even Rinzler were not even aware that she was working for and programmed by Flynn. They merely thought that she was one of Clu’s loyal programs that had suffered a memory wipe and could no longer remember her function. That conclusion suited Ruse just fine. As long as they did not try to reprogram her, Ruse could carry out her reconnaissance and report back to Flynn right under Clu’s nose. This was the big one. Flynn was sending her into the lion’s den.
They were nearing Clu’s throne room. Ruse could tell by how her guards stiffened and held their staffs tighter. Every program knew not to anger the almighty Clu. Ruse straightened and held her head high as the guards lead her into the room.
Large windows covered one wall, looking out on the arena. Ruse could hear the cheering of the crowds and the sounds of light cycles as they raced around, their riders desperate not to be derezzed. In front of the windows stood a tall program, his suit decorated with yellow circuitry. Another program stood behind a console. His circuitry glowed red. The program cleared his throat.
“Your Excellency, another prisoner to be dealt with.”
The tall program turned from the action, and Ruse managed to keep her face neutral. He was the spitting image of Kevin Flynn. Well, the Creator was beginning to develop bit of grey hair around his temples, but everything was the same…except for the smug smirk that adorned Clu’s face. He walked from the windows to stand directly in front of Ruse, peering into her face. Decidedly, she did not meet his eyes.
“Interesting…Jarvis, what is she accused of?”
As Jarvis tapped something into his console, Ruse could feel Clu’s eyes wandering all over her, but she did nothing.
“The program attacked a guard group in the center of the city. She took out 12 guards and fought Rinzler before finally being subdued.”
A small smirk tugged at the corner of her lips. Twelve. She had been off by two. Clu noticed her pride.
“Twelve, huh? Impressive. Any indication of her motive?”
“None, your Excellency.”
“Huh. Very well. Rinzler.”
Rinzler seemed to materialize next to Clu’s side, holding Ruse’s disc. He handed Clu the disc and melted back into the shadows. Clu activated the disc, and Ruse prayed to the Creator that Flynn’s code would hold. She glanced over at the disc from the corner of her eye.
A hologram of a part of her fight showed above her disc. She derezzed one of the guards and took his disc, now fighting with two. Suddenly the disc was knocked out of her hand by another disc – Rinzler’s. From her boot, Ruse pulled out a baton and turned it into a sword after she activated it. She took out two more guards as Rinzler watched, timing his attack. A second later the two were caught up in a flurry of glowing discs and limbs, dodging and parrying expertly. Ruse was still disarmed and thrown to the floor, but she lasted longer than any other program could.
“Interesting.”
Clu turned off the hologram and handed the disc to one of the guards, who replaced the disc on her back. He turned back to her, his hands clasped behind his back. He was back to studying her again, something that she did not appreciate, but she dared not show it. Ruse continued to stare straight ahead. Apparently, Clu found it funny as he let out a small chuckle and waved the guards away.
“Leave us. I wish to interrogate this one in private. That means you too, Jarvis.”
As the programs left, Ruse’s insides were flooded with a strange sensation. It was not fear, she had discussed fear with Flynn the last time she was in his residence. No, it was something different. What was it that Flynn explained? Nerves? The feeling of her insides turning around and twisting in knots.
The doors slid shut, and Clu’s smirk returned.
“All alone. Program, what is your designation?”
Ruse answered like a prisoner-of-war, clipped and direct.
“I am RUSE-ND-981357”
“Hmmm…Ruse…” Clu tested out the name, liking the sound of it. He began to circle her like a predator after his prey. “You’re a strange little thing. And just where do you come from?”
Ruse did not answer. She kept staring straight ahead.
“You wouldn’t happen to know of someone named Kevin Flynn…would you?”
Silence. A bit aggravated, Clu reached out for her. Ruse tried to flinch away, but he caught her chin, roughly forcing her to face him.
“If you don’t answer, things are just going to become worse for you. Much worse. I can promise you that.”
Ruse stayed silent. Clu’s eyes blazed yellow.
“Do you know of the User, Kevin Flynn?” he roared.
“Death to Users!” she spat back just as violently, even though it felt wrong to say it.
Surprised, Clu released her, his smirk back in its place. He looked her up and down again, a practice that Ruse was beginning to find very annoying, before moving back to her. He reached out and caressed her cheek, a surprisingly gentle motion for one so tyrannical. Ruse turned away unsure of how to handle this new development. The way he looked at her…it was like he hungered for something she possessed. Clu chuckled quietly again.
“Yes…I think we’ll have a use for you after all.”

That was a long one...you're welcome.
This is my favourite piece that I've done so far. I love the pose. I love the shading. I love the way that her face says "when I get out of these cuffs I'm going to cut someone in half with a light disc".
I'd love to hear y'all's reactions and opinions.

Bahaha I haven't seen that icon yet. This is relevant to my interests... and signature!
Somehow, her face makes me think that she's about to guarantee the closest shave Clu will ever know.
The way he looked at her…it was like he hungered for something she possessed.
My exact thoughts here: "Pfft, there he goes again!"
I balked at the unsubtle come-on in Legacy and literally eyerolled during Evolution.

I haven't played Evolution yet. Is it awesome?
Clu is too big for his britches.
Also, it might only be me, but I find it hilarious that Clu's a virgin. Anyone else?

Lol, nice one! And yes, that's precisely what she looks like.
I totally suck at such games so I ended up watching the walkthrough to see what's in it story-wise >_>. If you do plan to play it I'll oly say poor Q isn't the first subjected to ... uhm... questionable displays of affection.
Kevin had better come up with an explanation how exactly his program picked up being such a giant perv.
Hmm, the virgin thing... hilarious? Hell yeah! Surprising? Not really. Too big a target for ridicule to miss, isn't he?

Sounds interesting. Once I get my paycheck, I'm so gonna buy it.
Clu is pretty sleazy...
Although, young Jeff Bridges is pretty fine, so I personally wouldn't mind it too much if I got hit on...
Kevin? Any explanation?
...uh...
It isn't really surprising...but then again aren't all programs virgins? I mean in the first movie, if I'm recalling correctly, the programs didn't even know what a kiss was. Isn't it safe to assume that none of the programs know what sex is? Then again, some of the sirens in the 'End of Line' Club are lookin' pretty cozy with those Black Guard programs...man, I really took this conversation in a weird direction, didn't I? Betcha weren't expecting that... o.O

Great, I opened that in the break room at work earlier and after laughing my butt off for 5 minutes straight decided it would be better to reply from home.
I just LOVE how random comments sometimes lead to the most cracktastic conversations here.
But then again, I am used to the crack from Tumblr.
... right, in which order do I reply?
Maybe I should start with the deleted scene from the original movie, which cannot really be described, you have to have seen it: [link] (don't let the title confuse you, it's cute). So it looks like for programs it just works a bit different *shrugs*, which would explain why neither Yori nor Tron know how this whole kissing thing works until Kev shows up and snogs Yori senseless ... look, I found the explanation!
I dunno... I must be wired differently because giant egos just get me from geek to bitch in 0.5 seconds. That's why I'd probably tell Kirk to be awesome elsewhere, want to take Chekov home and feed him sweets, but somehow end up picking a bar fight alongside Bones instead - now does this even make any sense?!

I can see it now:
Coworker walks up..."Whatcha readin'?"
"Oh, just this conversation I'm having with this girl about Tron programs gettin' it on."
Coworker =
From art to program sex. That's how we roll here.
Oh cool! Hadn't seen that scene before. Maybe they sort of exchange some sort of energy to get it on...that would explain why Tron's circuits lit up and changed colour when Yori touched them. (Also, nice view of Tron's butt about halfway in...)
I'm wired very strangely...the thing is with Clu, I would not put up with his constant bitching. I would fight right back...of course, he probably wouldn't like that, but he can put on his big boy boxers and deal with it.
Of course, Kirk's ego makes me roll my eyes, and I wasn't really attracted to him, so maybe Clu's "bad boy" thing he's got going on is a factor. Chekov is adorable, and I would so end up in a bar fight along with Bones. Bones is my man! Well...one of them. There's a list.
Also, are both our "real" names actually Nicole? 'Cos that's just an awesomely crazy random happenstance!

Ha, I didn't even spot that! Hello there, Nicole! Yes, that's my actual first name.
Well... my co-workers already know I am weird so I don't know to what extent they would be surprised >_>.
But then again, of all that "nerdy tech folks" here, only the elderly trainer stared at my ENCOM t-shirt, furrowed his eyebrows and then blurted out "TRON!" with a huge smile. Ah well, leave it to the nutty professor types... maybe I'll have more luck with the Aperture Laboratories tank top I am planning to get.
That scene was only resurrected for the anniversary edition I think. I would agree with the idea of energy exchange (that would make Flynn's innocent attempt to save Ram a bit comical though - does that mean he derezzed from org... OK, I'll stop now). And yup, Bruce Boxleitner had a nice butt and damn long legs. Personally, I agree with Lora that Alan was way cuter anyway *whistles*.
I am used to dealing with some giant egos at work and they in turn know pissing off the German midget is a bad idea. Most of the time we kinda manage to get along, but it DOES require occasional reminders that messing about with me will result in hell breaking loose because I take no bullsh...ing.
Somehow, responding to Clu's antics with "Continue to give me that attitude and you'll spend the rest of your days under the belief that you're a six-year-old girl." rings highly appropriate to me.
Heh, Bones is definitely one of "my men" too - Han Solo being one of the other major ones. Man, I had some QUESTIONABLE role models for a girl O_o.

I need a Tron shirt! I want to get one of the Flynn Arcade ones. Or a Flynn Lives ones. An Aperture Labs tank? That's awesome. Actually, on one of the bulletin boards around campus, someone put up a flyer for Aperture Lab testing. I almost died laughing. People had even graffiti-ed "The cake is a lie" on it.
Yeah, that's so what happened to Ram! LOL! I think that with that it was more of giving energy and between Tron and Yori it was more about sharing energy at the same time. That could be the distinction.
Bruce Boxleitner is a frickin' hottie. I would jump him any day of the week. Have you heard of/seen a show called "Scarecrow and Mrs. King"? In that, he plays a secret agent and it's just so awesome to watch. (Spoiler: There are short shorts involved at one point. It made my life...and I almost fell off my bed.)
Recycled movie quote = Charles Xavier (as played by Sir Patrick Stewart) X-Men.
Han Solo used to be one of my men, as did Indiana Jones...then I realised how much my dad resembled Harrison Ford...and those crushes dissipated quickly. No matter, my "man list" is quite long anyways.
But I love Bones, both Karl and Deforest. I actually had a major Deforest Kelley freak out a few months back. I was watching this Frank Sinatra movie and Deforest showed up as this CEO or something. I was freaking out so much that I couldn't form proper sentences and I fell off the couch. My mum was greatly amused.

Hooray for quotes!
I'm leaning towards both shirts, but I really want the turquoise version of the Flynn's arcade shirt...the first one Flynn wears. That or I want the legit shirt with the logo on the back. All the ones I've found have the logo on the front.
You can actually find the entire first season of Scarecrow and Mrs. King on youtube. Here's a link if you'd like: [link]
I pretty much found it 'cos my mum was trying to remember where she knew Bruce Boxleitner from. And then we got into a fight over who had dibs on him.
Bist du Deutsch? Ich kenne das nicht!
It is pretty awkward, especially when one of my friends let's me know that my dad is kinda hot.
I loved the new Star Trek movie! It was brilliant, capturing the spirit of the old and mixing in something new. I think the best part for me when I watch it with friends is when Bones and Kirk are talking at the academy and Bones says "Study my ass", which, much to people's amusement, I add "Yes please!"
Oh my God! That is so the movie! It was called "Marriage on the Rocks", I think. So awesome. I got it for Christmas last year, and I was in stitches.

I may have a problem because I only own a TV for DVDs and now for my PS3. Now people have made me aware of the BBC Sherlock Series and Supernatural and I am battling with myself whether I should sit my ass down and actually watch them (I have only seen two episodes of Dr Who as well). Now there's ANOTHER thing to catch up with *whines*. Cheers for the links!
Lol, your Mom sounds like mine.
And yes, born and bred in Germany, but moved to the UK in January 2007.
Even more awkward: Meet best friend's little brother first when he's a chubby 3 year old (and you're 13).
You and your friends vow to turn him into a big metalhead... and so chubs kinda ends up like this (God, even THAT picture is old!): [link]
Realise: Your "adopted" brother turned into jailbait material XD. Well, no longer, now he's 18... and has a kid already O_o. Damn, I feel old.
"Study my ass..." - the discussion between my friends and me went in a similar fashion: "Well if he's asking THAT nicely we're happy to oblige... wait, that's NOT what he meant?"
Gutter party all the way.
Whee, my recalling of random movies was USEFUL for a change.

Heh, I am asking myself the same question... get myself a Flynn's Arcade or Flynn Lives shirt? Hmm. I like the subtlety of my Encom shirt, the people who "get" that one are just the right crowd for me. I visited a friend of mine in hospital wearing that and he nearly fell off his bed laughing.
Well... we have a "lab" at work as well. I WAS considering putting up an Aperture Labs test chamber sign, especially once the door broke and wouldn't open from the inside anymore...
To be honest, I thought long and hard, but do not recall EVER seeing an episode of that series. I actually had to Wiki up whether it was broadcast in Germany at all. Apparently it was on TV between 1986 and 1990 (when I was between 3 and 6), on a channel my parents rarely watched, and wasn't endlessly re-broadcast like others, so it's totally possible that I just missed it altogether.
Thanks to Tumblr I was made aware of it though and managed to watch a few episodes, including the one featuring Bruce in shorts (oh, 80s!).
Your dad resembles Harrison Ford? Duuuuude... awkward indeed.
As far as Bones is concerned.... look at my dev ID, it says absolutely everything. I was nicknamed Bones by my school mates when I was 12 and when I visit home they STILL call me that.
When the new Star Trek movie came out I was super nervous that they'd totally screw it up, but I can see everyone tried their best to do the characters justice even while adding their own spin.
"Live long and prosper" will forever be my euphemism for "go and screw yourself" now and the WTF moment when Uhura snogs Spock will probably never cease to amuse me.
A movie with DeForrest and Frank Sinatra in it? Was that the one where this couple (Dean Martin methinks) went on a second honeymoon and kinda ended up divorced and then the wife married her husband's business partner/friend?
