1/30/21: Have I mentioned how much of a pain in the ass a family tree is?! Especially as you're slowly redesigning some of the characters on it!4/5/21: Slowly taking my Grasslands stuff and Cas's story completely out of TLK. Kion and Rani have been reworked and redesigned, though Kion only slightly, Janna II is renamed, and Simba and Nala have been removed from the tree. Chumvi is also renamed, but the designs will not change because they fit what I want and need, and they are my designs anyway. Chumvi has no canonical adult design, so my design belongs to me. Same with Kion, now Hadithi. His colors are also my own, which is why Hadithi and Kion will share colors. The colors are my own version. So no "You can't use those designs. It's Kion and Chumvi!" You will be hidden in the comment section if you do that.
Tried my hand at making a family tree. As I'm only just starting the next generation all the mates and cubs of Cas's children will not be included in this tree. I'll make another one for that. The greyed out images are lions who are dead. Hopefully this clears up what cubs go to what father and any other other possible confusion. Dakari had two litter-mates that were stillborn. Cas never named them so they are represented by question marks and the shared 'unnamed'.
Yes Amara and Zuberi are half-siblings but also litter-mates, it's possible.
ALSO Mkali is BI-SEXUAL he is not homosexual. Cas, however, is.
EDIT: Added gender markings to try to clear up any confusion there. Cas is the only dual-gender of his family until grandchildren. He identifies as male, but he is biologically BOTH genders. It's rare, but it does happen. Normally they're not fertile like Cas, but this is also fiction... about talking lions, don't hold biology over my head please I'll just ignore you.
EDIT2: Added mates and all the grandchildren. Simba and Nala don't have pictures because I don't have any, and I would hope by now you all know what they look like. Rani is just a picture off her bio I used to pull colors from to make Munin's colors and figured I'd use.
EDIT3: Changed the green half-sibling line for Cas's cubs, it still crosses all the needed ones, so they are all still properly marked, and fixed the litter-mates lines.
EDIT4: Updated headshots for updated designs, and it will update again later when I've updated more designs.

May I ask a question? Just curious, since Cas was able to give birth to cubs, would he also be able to father cubs if he tried to, since he’s biologically both genders?

Thanks, yes he's got lots of kids but he loves being a mom.

To answer your question; yes Cas absolutely could father cubs. However, he has never felt any desire towards lionesses, which is why he is not given even a casual mate lioness, only males. Cas may identify as male, but it's mainly due to his appearance, his voice, and his scent. It's all a bit more male than female, but at the end of the day Cas is a mother through and through, and he wouldn't have it any other way. If he had to choose one gender he would choose lioness over lion for that reason. That being said he does sometimes get mistaken for a maned lioness, especially when he's pregnant.

Oh, that’s really interesting! Thanks for clearing that up! I’ve never seen any character like Cas before, so it’s really refreshing to see such a unique character! 
I also see that he mated with Chumvi as a sort of casual thing, does that mean he’s about the same age as Simba and Nala? If so, what’s their relationship like?

It's really flattering you see Cas that way. Unforunately for me I have to rely on commissions to get his story put into drawing as I can't draw worth crap, and even if I could I don't have a way to get the drawing from paper to my computer.

I can understand that, drawing can be really hard for me too. Don’t give up though, everyone can be great at drawing one day if they practice!
If you don’t have an iPad though, I’m sure there’s a way to do on with a computer program! I wouldn’t know a way to since I don’t use a computer to draw, but there has to be a way besides a scanner. Just don’t give up!

Cas is younger than Simba and Nala but older than Nuka, and Mkali is just a little older than him. It's not uncommon for lionesses to mate with an older male if he's still strong, and Chumvi was certainly young enough and strong enough to father cubs. Chumvi and Cas mates once Cas reached about the age of Kovu in TLK2, a young adult, resulting in Sterlin and Sanaa. Sterkin and Sanaa were only just out of their baby spots when Kanai and Kivuli took over. Had it been only one of them Chumvi would have stood a much better chance of winning, or at least surviving, but even though he was still in his prime, he just couldn't beat them both.
I also age my lions like humans due to a line in Be Prepared where Scar says, "Decades of denial", and in the wild males especially don't tend to live that long. So I would judge Kovu anywhere from 18-21, probably 19, so when Sterlin and Sanaa were born Cas would have been about 20.
The relationship between Cas and Chumvi was casual, and Chumvi was a fair leader. It was more a friendship than anything else. Cas never fell in love with him, nor did Chumvi love Cas.
