Aw I love cats. Not an animal person in general. And I never really draw them. But this lil guy was too cute to resist
Not bad for the first kitten i've ever drawn I suppose.

just a question, with the white parts of fur, did you use the scratch denting thing then colour over it or just left a space white and drew fur around it?
i am curious cause i draw cats and am trying to master fur, and you seemed to have mastered fur awesomely!

Okay, for the white in the face and paws it's just left from the white paper.
If you enlarge the picture you can see that the fur is made up of flicked out lines. Starting light and layered darker where it needs to be. Always follow the flow of the fur around the face and head. It's time consuming because you have to do every single individual hair. But it's worth the time because it gives you a very realistic look and texture.
The white highlighted hairs were actually done with a white gel pen, available from any stationary shop. Again you can see this if you enlarge the picture. Especially in the grain of the fingers.
The whiskers were either coloured around (right side of the drawing) or rubbed out with a fine eraser (left side of the drawing) and both were again highlighted with the white gel pen.
These pens are very cheap to buy, but are an invaluable tool for real fine highlights in dark pencil drawings.
