Another part of my LOTR replica collection.This is a full size, fully wearable Gauntlet of Sauron. Official replica by United Cutlery, it is made from the original armour, using the same building techniques and is constructed from antiqued iron, with over 30 moving parts, and real leather glove and inlays. The One Ring is plated in 24kt gold and is inscribed in elvish
I especially like the beautiful acid-etched intaglio on the surface of the armour plate.I've had this for a few years now but it just hides away in the box. Thought i'd give it an airing, show it the light of day for a while lol
I love Sauron's armour. It is intricate, beautiful yet very menacing

For the first time I ask myself how that One Ring comes to the finger... I mean, how does it fit over those iron embossments? Never thought of that.

Only thing I can imagine is the the Ring changes size to fit the one who it chooses to be found by. It visibly shrank in size when Isildur picked it up. It would also have changed size to fit Gollum's long thin fingers and i'm guessing again when Bilbo picked it up from the tunnel floor when escaping the Goblins

Oh yeah, now that you said it I can remember that part of size changing in the book. If Gandalf and Galadriel can suddenly grow taller, that might not be a big deal for the One ^^
