Description
Can you spot the human in this picture?Well, I really like snails. Did you know snails have lungs? It's so cool to just sit and watch one breathe.
Not sure I like how this turned out. I wanted to focus on lighting, background and textures. I think everything turned out a little muddled.

Wow! The detail in this is just stunning! Snails certainly are interesting critters aren't they? I didn't even notice the human in here until I read your comments!

The human is standing in Mr. Snail's jelly. XDD
I absolutely adore this one. It doesn't look muddled at all to me, but I'm always so impressed with stippling that I may be a bit biased. The detail in the skin of the snail is amaaaazinngggg nghhh... That texture is perfect.

Snail mucus is so cool though. Snails can crawl across a razor blade with no problem 'cause its mucus keeps it safe. Plus it can use its mucus to create a cocoon so it can hibernate through drought and stuff.

Love it! I really like all the detail in it, and that it's kinda surrealish. I love snails, I have a giant african land snail and they are pretty awesome

It's beautiful! Etana is a cool word for snail. I was wondering, what does the "P" on the end of the word do to it? Does it turn it into something like "my snail" instead of just "snail"?

Thanks! It grew a pretty shell
Haha, I think the p stands there is for "pieni", I had sometime shrink this picture smaller so it is to separate it from the bigger file xD

What sort of book is the snail borrowing?
and he looks quite handsome, you know, for a snail. I've never seen one breathe before but next time I see a snail, I'll have to give it a looksee.

It's a book on beekeeping for some reason. I do not know the literature preference of snails, but this one wanted something on beekeeping.
There's a little hole that opens and closes near where its head protrudes from the shell. That's the entrance to its lungs.

So it's like a snail version of a blow hole?
and who wouldn't want to know a bit about bee keeping? They're a fascinating species, a few of who have been known to make honey, others are fighters, others are content to be bees.
and maybe Mr. Snail has a new Bee friend he just wants to know about. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Well, I'm not sure it could be considered a blow hole since it's sort of pointed down-wards, but I guess you could think of it that way.
Here's a picture of it [link] the white hole near the top is the lung opening.

Wow, that's a big snail. And I actually didn't know they have lungs I've been too preoccupied with their shells and eyes/antennae to think much about what's inside them
Cool.

I wish they were too. I'd travel the world with my trusty snail. Their mucus allows them to glide over any surface including razor blades without getting hurt. Plus their mucus gives them antigravity powers. Snails can crawl across ceilings and other surfaces with no problem.

I really like the surreal nature of this. Honestly, I would be scared if I were that person down there.
Are they reading to the snail?

I'd love to have a snail that big. Feed it bales of alfalfa hay or something. Giant snail buddy.
The person is giving the snail a book to read. It doesn't come across too well, but the snail is reaching out for the book with its face tentacles.

I knew it was a book. The snail doesn't come across as the bookish type though. I think he need a monocle.
Haha.

Poor snail's bookishness has been challenged. I'm sure he keeps rows of books along the inside of his spiral shell.
