I can't argue with Sonic's logic...you'd have to keep a relationship like that secret for her protection. And it'd be hard to keep it secret, as much of a chatterbox as Amy is.
At the same time, however, he could be running away from her because he was afraid to admit his feelings for her.

I rediscovered this picture a long time after the fact, and looking at it again, I notice something I didn't before: both of them seem to be acting mature about their feelings for each other. I like that kind of Sonamy relationship best, for then it adds legitimacy to the relationship instead of just being "puppy love."
