You need the game files, yes. If you don't own the game on PC then find a workaround.

I've been working on a SFV mod character, and only just realised that some of the materials have not been imported by UE Viewer. Any help or advice you could give?

Hi, can you PM me screencaps of what you're talking about? I'm not too sure if you're referring to textures or material meshes. If possible, I'd like to know the mod you're working with too.

The mod is Christmas Mika by TerryXX. One of his older mods.
I'm assuming its certain mesh (material) and textures i'm missing. The fur and some other materials did not export that detail parts of the model.

The thing with mods is that they often take textures from existing costumes. I've discovered that this mod uses textures from '05' in the SkelMesh folder (her Holiday costume), so what you'll have to do is unpack those with UModel and place them in your port's folder. I had a look for myself and by applying the textures from her Holiday costume I was able to get this:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for addressing this PharaohIllusion. I have gotten the missing RMK 05 Holiday textures from another mod on here. I'll let you know how things go with the Christmas Mika port.Ā

I'm not quite understanding how I'm suppose to get the colors for the diffuse maps.

There appears to be a problem with the latest version of UE Viewer in regards to extracting SFV models. Hi, have you reported the problem to Gildor?
If you're going to join materials together, be wary of using Blender 2.8
to do the job - myself and others have experienced problems with
attempting to join using that version. Even though I don't use the XNALara software itself, I know others who still do, so I just want to make sure they don't have too much trouble along the way.
Do you have a quick demonstration showing the material joining problem in Blender 2.8?
If it's a bug, you may want to report it to the Blender developers, or if you want, I can report the bug on your behalf.
It's safe to delete the SSS files because they are useless. If possible, maybe they can archive the SSS files for people who are doing renders in Blender?
In case your watchers are new to Blender, I have a page that showcases some of the common mistakes and tips in Blender:
Blender - Common Mistakes and Tips
Also, along with the character ports, thank you for the time you've put into all of this.

The XPS tools for Blender 2.8 have this weird bug that when you export your model as an .ascii file, if you check inside the .ascii file with a text editor (like Notepad++), all the texture lines are empty, so when you re-import it back into the Posing Studio, it says it can't find those textures. That's what's been happening to me personally at least.

johnzero7:
The biggest change is that the addon no longer export materials to XPS. Why?Ā
In blender 2.80 Internal materials is gone (F for blender internal), all
materials are done with nodes. This makes more difficult to export the
material, other exporters have the same issue.
So you will need to rebuild the material using XNALara/XPSs material editor (Ctrl+T)

I didn't even know there was an entry on this! But yeah that seems to be what it's about.

They're the same files, so most likely.
