Well, I'm just your problem.
It's like I'm not even a person, am I?
I'm just your problem.

It took you a good while to reach your house, you had gotten lost countless times along the way, and it was already pitch black outside when it was only sunset when you had ran off. Your legs felt extremely sore, and it hurt just to take one small step out in front of you. You did your absolute best to make sure no one saw you, since the news of your Father's death, your face was all over the news. You knew that if anyone saw you they would report it to the police. So, you had to stick to the shadows, and hope for the best.

You stood in front of your childhood home, police tape completely covered the door, and the Neighborhood was completely silent, except for the sound of a dog barking nearby. The nights air was cool against your hot aching muscles. You took a small, shaky, step forward. Your heart thumped quickly inside your small chest.

You didn't know why you were so afraid, it was silly. That man is dead, his body isn't even in the house, you told yourself. Stop being such a baby, (Name)! You sighed, closing your eyes, taking in a few deep breaths. When you opened yourself, someone was standing in front of you. You jumped back, in shock.

You couldn't make out the person's features all that well. He was very tall, slender, and had shaggy hair that reached his shoulders. A small light lit up near the persons face, and there was a small puff of smoke afterwards. You instantly realized who it was that was standing in front of you. It was Francois.

How could you forget? You laughed silently, Francois was the only one who wasn't home. They could have easily called him, and told him to look for you. Your teeth clenched in irritation.

"If you were looking to run away, you sure picked a pretty obvious place to hide yourself." Francois told you, taking a step towards you so you could see his face.

"I'm not going back, Francois, so don't try to make me. I don't want to hurt you." You told him calmly.

He laughed,"Hurt me? You're just a kid, don't get ahead of yourself. Oh, and don't worry, I'm not planning in taking you back. Sure, those idiots back home begged me to look for you, but if I tell them that I couldn't find you, they won't do a thing."

"Why are you trying to help me?" You questioned him. You didn't understand it. Why would he help you? It was pretty clear he didn't exactly care much for you, at the most he thought you were exactly like Oliver and the others.

"You're a pretty interesting kid... And a smart one, too. I'll let you make decisions like this for yourself, and won't force you to do anything you don't want to." Francois said quietly,"Besides, I've known who you were the whole time. You look a lot like Luciano, there's no point in denying it. Unlike the others, my job requires knowing everything that happens around the area. The same news has spread for years. News that Luciano was looking for a certain little girl, and he would do absolutely anything to get her."

    "Why..?" You asked again.

"Rumor said that the kid's Mother was refusing to talk. She said,'That kid was a mistake, so why does she even matter? There's no point in looking for her, she's probably dead by now.' Luciano, being the stubborn Italian he is, refused to stop looking for his kid. He did everything in his power to make sure you got to him safely, even put out a reward. 'Course no one ever bothered actually looking. They only kidnapped some random girl and brought her to Luciano, hoping that he would take the bait." Francois laugh,"Luciano's no idiot. Any kid of his, or any of ours in fact, can speak the language of our country fluently. In your case it would be Italian, and if I had a kid they would be able to speak french."

"How is that even possible? For a kid to know a language when they are born?"

"You see, Luciano and his two buddies, Oliver, Me, and the rest of them." Francois began,"We're not human, and neither are you." You took a step back from Francois, putting a little bit more distance between the two of you. Your (e/c) eyes were wide in shock, and your body was beginning to tremble. N-not human?

"W-what? What do you mean by 'not human'...?" You stuttered.

Francois sighed,"It's exactly as it sounds, We're not normal like those humans that live around here. We're the representations of the darker side of the nations they live in. Haven't you ever wondered why we all look so different? Al and Matt are brothers, but they aren't really. Nations can't have children, it's a very rare case when one does. I mean just look at Al and Matt, they look nothing alike. Not only that, but each of us have a different accent. It's not all that hard to place a nations name to one of us. You represent a Province or a city in Italy." Is Francois crazy? Nations aren't people, and you aren't a city, either! You thought. Francois must be as  drunk as a skunk, it's the only reasonable explanation.

Francois recognized the look on your small face, it was the look of someone in denial. There was nothing he could do to prove everything he had told you. The majority of the things he had told you were the obvious. You would just have to figure out everything for yourself.

    "You're nuts-"

Francois cut you off,"Am I really? Or are you just as stubborn as your Father is? It's the truth, and whether or not you accept it now is up to you. Nations, provinces, and cities have faster healing abilities then humans, so why don't you take that bandage off your neck? That's all the proof I have to show you." You did as Francois had asked, just to show him how completely crazy he was. As soon as. The bandage was off your raised your hand to your neck.

"See?" You asked, but when your hands touched the place where the cut was, you felt nothing. Your eyes widened again, as you felt around your neck for any trances of the injury, but there was nothing there. Your hands slowly dropped down to your sides,"...how... It's not possible..."

"Like I said, kid, you should just accept it now. If you don't, then surely, you're going to face a problem in the future that you can't handle without the help of one of us."  Francois took another puff of his cigarette and then flicked it to the ground, crushing underneath his shoes. He then proceeded to walk forward. You didn't move, knowing that he wasn't going to try anything. Francois stopped in front of you, raising one hand and placing it on your head. He gently ruffled your head. "See ya later, kid. If you need me, I left my number on the fridge, and don't worry, the blood is all cleaned up. Those idiot cops got all they could find."

Francois left you standing there with wide eyes. You were a rare case, a child of a nation, your Mother thought you were a mistake, you were some kind of weird province or city in a different country, and the only person who actually seemed to care about you was the 'Nation' of a Father you never got to know. You almost didn't know what to believe anymore. All of this was enough to drive you mad, but you aren't going let it. You're tougher than most people, you've lived through so much it was little silly to just give up now.

You looked up slowly, and then began to walk to the front door. You didn't dare speak a single word to yourself. You crawled underneath the police tape, opened the door, and walked straight in. The blood was completely gone, just like Francois had told you. His number was written on a small slip of paper that was placed underneath a magnet. On the counter was a cell phone with a note attached to it.

You walked towards it, and examined it, the note itself was written of course by Francois. The cellphone underneath the small note was disposable, which meant that it couldn't be tracked. You picked up the phone, holding it tightly in of our hand. You then read the note on the counter.

Noticed there weren't any phones around the house,
So, I'll let you borrow this one for now.

                                                                                        -Francois

After reading the note, you turned tot he fridge and plucked the little card off. You then entered the number inside the cellphone's contact list. It was now the only number saved to the phone.

After that, you went into the bathroom and flushed the two notes so no one would be able to trace Francois to this location, that way no one would get in trouble. You walked into the room across from the bathroom, which was your room.

Your room was nothing special, the only thing that was inside it was a dresser full of clothing and a small bed. Since that man didn't care much for you, he never bought you anything unless it was for school. Your bedroom's walls were completely bare, and  bright white. Your floor's carpet was a reddish brown color, that resembled the color of rust. You never minded not having much to call your own, it never bothered you that you never got any birthday or Christmas presents.

That stuffed rabbit you had was the only thing you actually cared about. That rabbit was the only thing you had that was truly yours. You didn't need anything else, as long as you had that, you were happy. But now, you didn't even have that. You were all alone in this house, with no one to talk to but yourself.

You crawled onto your bed, curling up into a ball underneath the blankets. You shut your eyes tightly, clenching your teeth as hard as you could to keep yourself from screaming out in frustration. Why? Why did all of this have to happen to you? Why?! You screamed in your head.

Your arms covered your head, while your hands began to grab onto your hair, yanking it furiously. You didn't understand anything anymore. You didn't know how to handle this by yourself. Suddenly being told you're not normal, how are you supposed to deal with that all by yourself?

"You'll find a way to handle things, you always have... So stop acting like a child." A voice said. At first you thought the voice had come somewhere inside the room, which caused you to jump up and search the darkness for the source. But, as expected, there was no one in here except for you. The voice must have been inside your head.

That voice was right though, you frowned, why are you acting like such a child now? You've been through much worse than this, and you have always found a way to deal with it all by yourself without the help of others. Perhaps it's the shock of everything that is making me act this way? You told yourself with a small sigh. That has to be it.

"I'll be just fine." You said quietly to yourself,"I don't need anyone to worry about me." You laid back down onto your bed, closing your eyes. Your panicked breathing from before was now beginning to calm down, and the heavy feeling that was in your chest was beginning to also disappear all together.

"Everyone needs at least one person to worry about them... If not, that person will end up doing something completely stupid, and no matter how hard they try... They won't be able to take it back." The voice whispered to you as you began to fall asleep.

You tried to keep you eyes open, but no matter how hard you fought against it, it didn't make the slightest difference. It didn't matter to you at all what you did next, that was a thought to save for tomorrow, when your head was a lot more clear. Your eyes closed, and your breathing slowed, causing you to slowly drift out of consciousness.

She never had it to begin with...
JUST KIDDING.
Lol =3

I'm not even sure who the voice is just yet.

In all honesty, I was going to bring in a character a year or two older than reader-chan to act as an older sibling.
But I trashed the Idea because I couldn't figure out how to fit them in.. xP

I still might add another character, but instead of it being a character of my own creation~
It shall be le lovely 2p Sealand. XP
But even that Idea might get trashed.

I just ain't too sure what to do... *Le sigh*

Maybe an imaginary friend for Reader-chan? Or a pet that speaks in her head?
