Okkkkk No more tweaking, Im really going to post it! I am! I can do it!

This is my entry for 's Greek Gods Contest

Several Daughters of Nyx (goddess of night) are having a little party, apparently.

Took quite a while, I'm quite proud. I've never done art projects where I plan out placement, personality, meaning, poses, etc etc etc.... Im very happy I actually managed to last 21 days on one art project! I know that doesnt seem like a lot on this site, considering there are people who work for months on single pieces, but I've never done anything more than what would be considered 'doodles' - one hour, less, and they're done.

So who are all these people?
Clockwise, from upper right:
Ker (violent death)
Two Hesperides (guardians of Hera's golden apples)
Eris (chaos) (holding apple)
Apate (deceit)
Third Hesperides
Hemera (day) (Golden)
Philotes (love)

What's going on?
Philotes (love) is cowering near Hemera (day) to get away from Ker (violent death). In the center,

Eris (chaos) is holding up a regular apple, which Apate (deciet) is making look as if its gold.

This is freaking out the three Hesperides, since they're the guardians of said apples. Plus, you

all know what happened LAST time Eris got her hands on one of those (Trojan war, anyone?).

Meanings
Eris is glamorous, but looks like a old-fashioned villaness. Apate looks more like a friend, smart,

even helpful. With her, you dont know how deep you'll get in. But with Eris, you know right away

that she's bad news.

Hemera is often more like a sister to Nyx, being the day to her night. Thus, she is the only one

who gets the real goddess appearance, complete with stately pose, semi-sentient hair, and glowing

aura.

Philotes is small, coy, shy. She is the goddess of friendship and love, but not love like Aphrodite

- she is more of decietful love - think puppy love and crushes. So shes more like a little kid than

an elaborate goddess.

The Hesperides are all gasping, oh noes! Yes, that one right there has '70s feather hair.

Ker is.... well, looking bored. She usually has a black cloak and claws and dripping blood, but I

toned her down since she's not killing anyone at the moment. But she does look the least realistic,

the most removed from the image.

Overall look: I tried to keep it simple. Simple colors, simple shading. So many people take "red

as dominant color" and make the whole thing a mind-twisting confusion of red on red on red. I made

it like a greecian painting (the few I could find), almost cartoonish, very simplisic.

Who's missing?
Several, like Lyssa (madness), are missing because they werent in the wiki link, and therefore

were'nt accepted in the contest. Its an excluuuuusive party.
The Fourth Hesperide may or may not actually exist, and was therefore not invited.
Oh, and Nemesis (retribution) was... busy. So she couldnt come.

Done in who-knows-how-many hours over 21 days. Im so very happy with it.
