Description Here it is, finally! A reference guide for the Cyberlope/Circuitborn, a kind of pseudo-species of mine. Other examples include Glitch  and Ultra .

They’re open and I’ll allow anyone to make their own (which is part of why I’m making this public), provided you let me know first! Do try to stick to hooved species, though I won’t be too mad if you don’t.

Just no rainbow wolves.

Please.

Very interesting and detailed design! It caught my eye even as I'm not much into cyborgs otherwise. But here, they look like the epitome of the friendly AI concept.

A little idea: their "ethereal hair-like material" could be a low-energy plasma discharge, guided with magnetic fields. Like an artificial, hi-tech version of St. Elmo's fire.

Funny consequence is that coming in contact with external magnetic fields would then mean cyberlope's bad hair day.

Thank you!

I do like that idea, could be one of several possible explanations! I had already imagined strong magnetic fields having unusual effects on them (For instance, stabilizing severely injured ones. They aren't 100% solid physical matter in the same way an organic or robot is, and enough damage to their body is bad news).

as always I love your cool cyberpunk critters!

They look cool I like when a species is described like that, giving some sense of logic to all of the little details.
I may try this soon. I always wanted to work on an equine character, and I'm stuck in a long art block these days.

Very nice, I miss doing stuff like this.

Indeed.

Can circuitborn be "upgraded" at all? Introduce new software/hardware like high-powered limbs, air/liquid filtration systems, jetpacks, hacking modules, and fancy infrared vision to name a few?

Hmm. In terms of software... not after they're already physical. But if you know a digital thing is going to become a circuitborn, I suppose it would be possible to alter its programming and try to effect how the circuitborn will come out, and maybe give them things like strength or infrared, etc.

In terms of hardware they can have cybernetics and prosthesis just like organics do, and their "biology" is actually a lot more receptive to it, with no risk of infection or anything.

Buuut there is one caveat to this I will cover in Part 2: They become "glitchy" and kinda not-entirely-physically-solid when they're damaged in any way (like being cut open for surgery) with the severity depending on how bad it is, especially if any parts are removed. This can be mostly mitigated with a powerful enough magnetic field, though.

I just now had a mental image of a circuitborn turned into a glitchy, pixel-bleeding zombie-bot thing after having too many forced cybernetic upgrades, like a cross between a Resident Evil monster and MissingNo.
