Cheerilee never gets invited to parties. She wasn't at the Gala or the wedding and I can't recall any other party in which she was present. And she stayed home on Nightmare Night.Anyway, this (in my mind) would be her dress she'd wear if she ever got an invite to a party. It took a long time to get this design right, or at least to a point at which I could say, "Yep, that's a dress Cheerilee would wear." Obviously it's based heavily on her colors and her cutie mark.
It's OK, Cheerilee. For now you'll just have to go back to a world of making lesson plans, grading homework, bratty students, snobby parents, and intrusive crusaders. And not having a special somepony. Just keep up that brave and cheery facade and things will turn around for you eventually.

I think it depends on the kind of policepony. Β If it was somepony like Barney Fife then it would be iffy. Β If it was an Andy Griffith type character, yeah, I can see that. Β Sheriff of Nottingham? Hells no! Β I'd like to believe that Cheerilee has pretty good taste and she's willing to give second chances but she's not going to hang around an inept or crooked cop.

The idea is proving awkward, but the police pony is like something from a western movie. Not quite one of those anti-hero types, but a bit world-weary. After a long absence, He's returning home to Ponyville to take over for the retiring sheriff. Oh, and he and Cheerilee have a history.

Well, I suppose the the parts to get figured out are: Where was he during this absence, what was he doing, and how did it affect him; and what kind of history does he have with Cheerilee? Β Even if they have a good history it could be difficult to just pick up where they left off. Β If he's not the same pony he was when he left it will certainly make their reunion more tenuous and dubious. Β Β

You did a really good job of drawing her and her outfit. It's really great to see some coloured pencil work in this fandom too. :3 I always get sad by Cheerliee being left out, but then Big Mac wasn't at the wedding either, so I like to pretend they were hanging out together instead.
