I recently read Timothy Zahn's 'Icarus Hunt' and really enjoyed it. Soon I found myself getting all fangirly about it so I made these sketches of two of the book's main Characters Captain Jordan McKell and his partner Ixil. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes science fiction. His 'Thrawn' trilogy in the starwars universe is also really entertaing.Related content

Whaaa! Sweeeet! Icarus Hunt is definitely one of my favorite books by Timothy Zahn (and I've read a lot of his work) -- possibly my absolute favorite standalone book (i.e. not counting the various trilogies and series). I'd love to try my hand at drawing the characters some time. It's a treat to see that you've done so already. ^^ Somehow I imagined Ixil's shoulders to be a bit broader than that, but still, he looks great. Jordan's great, too.

Haha, it's definitely worth reading again! I just reread it a month or so ago, and enjoyed it just as much before (even though the twist at the end was spoiled, of course).

AND THEY ARE SO EXACTLY HOW I IMAGINE THEM.
I'm reading it right now, and suddenly had the urge to see if anyone had drawn the characters. Lo and behold...perfect renditions!

Lol. Yeah I picked this book up in a little hole in the wall book store in Salem and read it on an airplane. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised with its quality. Glad you enjoyed my illustrations

You're welcome - my sister enjoyed the book too - we got hooked by reading his star wars books and we wanted more (I've read almost every book he's written so far). Icarus hunt was great from start to finish and the surprise ending clench its status for me.
