Description Characters ( not all ) of Remarque's ''The Spark of Life''.
Well, it's not my favorite book of him, but still - I think it's the only one Remarque's story with so many characters

I know this is old art, but I still want to try and guess the characters:

Left to right, top row: 509 or Bucher?? , Ruth
next row: Berger, Karel
next: really not sure about these two... Handke, Lebenthal maybe? I do not know.
next: Goldstein or Lewinksky?, Ashaver
next: Weber, Steinbrenner
next: Schulte, Neubauer
last: Dietz, Wiese

I hope I guessed at least some of them right...And of course there is the problem that many prisoners look alike.

I think on the first row there's Bucher. He was younger than 509 as i remember.

Yes, you're probably right. One of the prisoners further below must be 509, unless he's not there at all. Which I don't think would be the case.

I keep thinking you should do the characters from Soylent Green. . . but whatever I'm being silly.

Great style! It's so original
I love how you make each character so unique You made the guys on hats seem so mean, even the ones that are smiling, and that is awesome
I specially like the 6th one in the left, I don't know exactly why.

gahh you're drawings are beautiful! love the expressions and how you give them so much character. I always impressed at how you can make the characters look the same, and still be able to create new ones -and its never confusing to who is who! that is a big talent.
oh and i LOVE the way you do the soldier hats!! <3

I could try helping with the names in English (mostly because I want to see if I guessed who is who correctly xD)? The ones that I'm pretty sure about are the second row on the right is Karel, fifth row from left to right are Weber and Schulte, sixth row on the right is Neubauer, and last row on the right is Niemann (I hope). I can only guess at the rest though. In any case, wonderful job! Your art is amazing, as always.

You're right)) exept Schulte - Shulte is under Weber, and the guy on one line with Weber in Steinbrenner (am I write his name correct? )

Also makes me want to read the book - which language is it in originally?

Ah Remarque; already on my list of authors to read due to "Alls Quiet on the Western Front." Had no clue he wrote on WWII. Another reason to check him out I suppose. Thanks for the enlightenment!

As for the piece itself; the title fits because indeed, you put a spark of life into your characters with the wonderful expressions. Great job! ^_^

Cool cast! What's the book about? I'll look for it, because you make it seem quite enthralling, but I'd kind of want to know if it ends badly in advance. I tend to get too personal to the story and cry like a little girl of someone cool dies. eh.
