I just had too high of expectations for it I think. I was expecting it to be really bad ass and have some really dark, dramatic scenes. I wasn't happy with the character style or the execution of some of the scenes and I found Pitch to be a really boring character, I don't think they did justice to his character in the movie. I'm a big movie critic though, especially when it comes to animation haha I'm not saying it was horrible, it had some really good moments, it just wasn't what I had hoped it would be.

You really have to remember that in it's simplest form, this is a childrens movie, and there's so few good ones being made lately. They can't make the movie too long because then it will bore the kids, and they can't make the characters too complex or it will confuse the kids. They also can't make it too dark or the kids are going to get really scared and have nightmares. They also can't put too much into the graphics, you aren't going to see an avatar-esque childrens movie because their market is also much more limited They have to make childrens movies under more strict conditions than with adult or teen movies. If they didn't have those strict conditions to deal with, then yeah, I would be like "It could use some work" But for what it was, I think it was very very good

I know, thats why I didn't like it though. I felt it would have been better if it wasn't a kids movie. The story was so interesting I wish a different studio would have picked it up and done more with it. Its good for what it is I just would like to see a more in depth movie with this concept. I was just sad to see such an interesting movie concept not used to its full potential. But yea, the movie was fine, but I just expected more form it simple as that. I was expecting more of a PG13 rating from it since it was from Dream Works, but once I saw that it was rated G I knew it wasn't going to be what I expected so its my own fault for making assumptions about what it would be like before I saw it. haha I'm such a rambler

So... I'm trying to get this straight... You thought a movie featuring Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy, Sandman, Jack Frost, and The Easter Bunny would be better if it was meant for adults? A movie about characters that kids outgrow way before the age of 13 should be rated PG13? Just about no one would go and see a movie like that. I mean, it might match your fantasies and expectations, but the actors, animators, and entire dreamworks team needs to make some sort of money.

What exactly happened in the book? I know he had a daughter and was a general and was filled by the nightmares trying to save her. I am broke and our library does not have the book so I have no way of getting it to read.
