A S.S. soldier, and a russian, I cannot turn this down, esspecially when you draw so beautifully. Plus, Iogann's expression is, rather priceless.

OMG! you know what you've done??? you've made me OBSESSED with this movie! I've finished to watch it just yesterday, for the second time (I have to admit that the first time it was a bit hard to understand all the story...) It's just...WOW! no words! amazing plot, sexy characters....I've a crush on Heinrich right now :-P
So, I have to thank you for make me discover this masterpiece! oh, almost all of you're works are now in my Favs...hope you're ok with it!

Have you ever seen the film 'Two Comrades Were Serving' (Sluzhili dva tovarishcha)? I really liked Oleg Yankovsky in that, much more to The Shield and Sword, even though i thoroughly enjoyed this superb piece of cinema too!

Прочитала книгу "Щит и меч" - впечатлений масса.
Могу я обратьиться к Вам за советом?
Дело в том, что мне нужна литература о Второй Мировой войне, а я не могу определиться с автором. Не могли бы Вы посоветовать мне книгу, которая помогла бы погрузиться в ту эпоху.

Не хочу разочаровывать,но я искренне не советую брать большие труды по войне "обо всем сразу" от одного автора. Так это может быть либо десятитомный труд,либо справочник,где на каждое событие уделяется по 2 с половиной строчки. Советую определиться что конкретно нужно - допустим,если нужны танковые операции,то читать "Танки в грязи" Гудериана. Если нужна Англия - "Вторую Мировую" Черчилля, по Великой Отечественной - если надо "в общем" - можно для начала взять Дашичева. О немцах и их отношениях со всеми остальными - есть большой немецкий сборник "Выводы побежденных". И так далее и так далее.
Моя любимая литература - это мемуары. Особенно если интересны какие-то конкретные личности.
И вот еще что - ни в коем случае не идите в книжный и не берите современные книги. Потому что они в 80% случаев - ересь.

Насчёт современных книг - полностью согласна с Вами. Мне на день рождения подарили подобную литературу, до сих пор переживаю шок от прочитанного.
С трудом Черчилля уже ознакомилась. Больше всего в этой войне меня интересует немецкая сторона, спасибо за совет, я попытаюсь найти этот сборник.
Я также считаю мемуары самой интересной литературой, и даже читала несколько книг, написанных американскими президентами (преимущественно Вашингтоном и Линкольном), всё что нашла в библиотеке отца. Я бы с удовольствием ознакомилась с биографиями других людей, интересующих меня, но, к сожалению, возникает та же проблема - отсутствие осведомлённости в данном вопросе. Не хотелось бы читать бред какого-нибудь полу-историка, или ещё хуже, человека, не имеющего к истории никакого отношения. Очень бы хотелось получить что-то стоящее...

Ну,мемуары это живая литература,а не сухая документалистика (если не считать мемуары военных,конечно)
Вообще "Выводы побежденных" подходит только как нечто вводное - когда много народу пишет обо всем,это не всегда хорошо. А но немцам написаны сотни книг.
Самые лучшие те,что издавались года в 60-е. Только с советскими книгами аккуратнее - там про угнетенных рабочих на берлинских заводах раза в два больше,чем о чем бы то ни было другом. Если кто-то конкретный нужен - то по многим написаны биографии, ставшие каноническими. Вроде Феста.
