She's the main reason I wanted the ASF. She's a very picky eater. She eats on her *own* schedual and is far behind the others in growth. She's healthy and gaining weight, but at about half the rate as the others. I'm hoping some ASF will fix that.

Ahh, picky eaters know exactly how to get under your skin... and of course it is one of the most genetically valuable snakes you've got, huh I've got a WC YB female who has taken a few rat pups and small mice but she's 1600g and I want to get her back up to weight for this season... So I'm hoping the ASF do the trick.

Or dunk a rodent in some tuna juice. I've heard that works sometimes... I have no clue why though

luckily she decided to eat two fat mice today without me having to break out the tuna juice. It's always such a relief when a snake breaks a fast.

That's good I've got a strictly mouse eater 66% het pied female I'm trying to get to accept rats... She eats mice no problem which is ok for now but I hate when you have a 1000g female who only eats mice. She is only a little over 300g so hopefully she will switch sooner than later. Otherwise I'll just have to chain-feed her rats when she's an adult, lol.

Me too... I just cleaned rodent cages and my ASF have about 25 babies right now and 1 female is pregnant... So I can't wait till they are big enough to offer to my big WC Yellow Belly.

Yep or chicken broth. I've not tried either but there are some who swear by it! Luckily I usually don't have picky eaters.

Well think of it this way, the snake is 200...but then with cage, heat, lights, food, etc it ends up running closer to 500. Snakes are easy care, but they are not cheap! So far I have 600$ worth of cages and cage gear alone, and they cost me 25$ a week to feed....it adds up.
