Sean shuddered slightly at hearing the giant take a breath like that...so much air being moved, all for one person's lungs...it wasn't right.Β

"What...What do you plan to do now?" He asked, slightly concerned that the giant would take advantage of his 'new' size.

"I have no idea," Kendall admitted, opening his eyes again. "Can't really fit in anywhere any longer... Do you have any suggestions, by any chance? Um... maybe... I could talk to whoever's in charge around here and try to work some sort of contract or something out? Do you think they'd let me get close enough to do that?" he asked, clearly having no clue who it was he was speaking to.

Sean gave a dry chuckle. "Well...considering that I'm the prince...and my mother the Queen is away, so there's no one else to assume command...I'd say I'm that person in charge. I hope I haven't disappointed you by being too 'small'."

For a moment, Kendall found himself staring for the third time that day. Then he cringed. "Sorry... I knew I should have phrased that differently," he moaned, putting his head in his hands. "Especially since it turned out that I'm the odd one out here..."

Sean flinched at the quick movement, hand moving instinctively to his sword hilt before realizing Kendall wasn't attempting to hurt him. He let out a quiet sigh, trying to calm his jittery nerves.Β

"It's fine. I am rather small compared to you, after all." He replied.

"Well, yeah, but... I feel like such an idiot..." Kendall said with a sigh, running one hand through his hair. "I'm sorry..."

Sean shrugged. "Don't be. It wasn't like it was a real insult, just an observation...and you have the politeness to apologize, after all." He chuckled. This situation...was just so odd...

Kendall sighed again, but this time it was a sigh of relief. "Thank you..." he said. Feeling rather awkward, as he'd never been in the presence of royalty before, the city boy just decided to shut up.

Sean sighed, looking up at the giant with a slightly troubled expression. "Well...I suppose we can't just leave you here. So, you'll have to come back to the palace with me. It isn't far off, especially not for you, but I am a bit worried about how the guards will react when they see you...alright, here's what we'll do. Stay here for a bit, and I'll be back in ten minutes or so. I'll warn them not to shoot, or anything. Alright?" He asked briskly, already turning to leave.

Kendall nodded agreement, putting his hands in his lap to make sure he'd keep them to himself. "I promise I won't hurt them, either," he said. "Well, you know, except for as self defense if I have no other choice," he added, not wanting to tie himself into a potentially fatal agreement.

Sean nodded, chuckling and hiding the nervousness he felt just at the thought...a giant, attacking them. It would be horrifying. "Well, hopefully you won't have to. I'll be back in a few minutes." He finished, walking off in the direction of the palace.Β

Sean turned back, grinning. "Sean! Nice to meet you, Kendall." He called, before walking off once more. This really was odd, but at least it seemed like the giant he'd met was friendly. And polite, as well.

(UGH, I CAN'T RESIST, ANYMORE!!!)

(Matthew, 19, 6'5", Dirty blonde hair with bangs that hang slightly over his eyes, Clear emerald green eyes, his default expression is a deep-set glare that speaks volumes of a fight-or-flight lifestyle.Β He's wearing a black wife-beater tank top and worn-out moss-green cargoes. His body isn't overly-built, but shows quite a bit of muscle, obviously adjusted to heavy use and hard work. There is light stubble growing on his chin.) (Matthew may or may not be familiar with the inside of a prison cell... >u>)

(I wanted to throw you something a bit different~ A new challenge, so to speak~)

The teen had been sleeping soundly until the sensation of a sharp object threatening his throat woke him in an instant, taking in a loud and large sharp breath of tension. The voice which accompanied the silent threat barely fazed him though he did make an effort to keep from moving. After a second, his attention was focused on a weight just atop his collar bone--he figured it was a hand though he couldn't see the man it belonged to when his eyes searched for him.

"Who are you...?" Matthew growled, following the order but still being rebellious in a way. He hadn't pissed anyone off around here, last he checked--of course, he hadn't seen anyone, either.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Phoenix-FireMage In reply to Amenarae [2014-02-08 22:59:50 +0000 UTC]

"That's not important," the voice growled, and the tip of the blade pushed a little further into Matthew's neck, though not far enough to break the skin -yet. "Just do as you're told." The weight on his collarbone shifted slightly over to his shoulder, and something gripped the collar of his shirt. "Close your eyes again and sit up, slowly," he was ordered, "as you value your life."

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Amenarae In reply to Phoenix-FireMage [2014-02-08 23:45:14 +0000 UTC]

(His shirt doesn't have a collar, it's just got a shoulder strap. He's wearing a tank top, don't forget.)

Matthew grit his teeth and bared them a little as the blade tried to nick him; he twisted his head slightly away from the sharp tip in an effort to get away from it. A growl rumbled in his throat, but he shifted carefully and slowly to get up with the opposite arm at first, then slightly jolted the one the weight was on as though it were an 'accident' and not him trying to shrug off the person's grip. His eyes remained open, however, but they were looking up or around at eye-level for the man.

"What did I do that you have a knife to my throat, huh? And where are you? Why can't I see you?" the teen snarled, eyes still searching yet not finding.

Phoenix-FireMage In reply to Amenarae [2014-02-08 23:50:33 +0000 UTC]

((Sorry. Gripped the strap, then.))

As he sat up, the slight weight managed to remain on his shoulder, shifting around so as not to get knocked off, even after he jolted it, though it did slip a little at that. "You were trespassing on private property," the voice said, speaking right in his ear and ignoring his second question. "What are you doing here?"

Amenarae In reply to Phoenix-FireMage [2014-02-09 00:15:37 +0000 UTC]

"Private...? What? How was I supposed to know?!" he snarled, jerking his head away from the voice so close. "Show yourself, dang it!" Matthew, reached up towards his shoulder to swipe the hand away roughly, body moving forward quickly to shrug it off at the same time. "I'm not answering anything else until you answer me!"

Phoenix-FireMage In reply to Amenarae [2014-02-09 03:58:01 +0000 UTC]

"Ow!" Matthew managed to swipe off not only the hand of the person whose blade had been against his throat, but the whole person. Only about a foot tall, the man now lay on the ground, groaning in pain. But he was still holding his sword, and he continued to point it at Matthew. About half a dozen other men of equal stature also had their swords pointed at him, and five archers had their bows drawn back, the arrows aimed straight for Matthew's heart. All that was keeping them from letting loose was the order, which would come in an instant if Matthew tried anything else.

The teen's attention snapped towards the direction of the voice to the ground, eyes widening at what he saw. Little men--and not little like midgets were little, but actually scaled down in perfect proportions! He gaped at the man on the ground before the expression turned to one of anger and he shifted suddenly forward to loom over the foot-tall man, a hand on either side of him in a trapping manner.

"Now I see why you were threatening me." he said lowly, a dark smirk inching onto his face. But he stopped it early and huffed in annoyance instead, pulling back a bit so as not to loom so much. "You shouldn't bother someone so much bigger than you while they're sleeping--wasn't very smart move on your part. Now what are you gonna do, huh?" His voice didn't hold as much venom as it would have, though the irritability was still clear in his tone. Matthew glared mildly down at his 'captive'.

Phoenix-FireMage In reply to Amenarae [2014-02-09 04:23:15 +0000 UTC]

"We were trying to make sure you weren't going to be a threat!" the man on the ground was quick to explain. "So that we wouldn't have to worry about you attacking anyone!"

"Back off from him!" One of the others cried, and an archer let loose a warning arrow, which buried itself in Matthew's arm, going in several inches.

"Oh, right, because waking me with a blade to my throat is always such a good ide--AARGH!" Matthew growled loudly and bared his teeth, a dangerous glare on his face as he turned his attention towards the archer who shot him, one hand moving to pull the arrow from his arm with grunt of pain.

"You want a piece of me?!" he snarled at the new man, quickly pushing away from the first and reaching out to grab him in a large and heavily-abused fist. Matthew already had his feet under him and shot up to stand, his free hand griping the archer's bow and quiver before he could fire another. His gaze turned to the ones on the ground and he glared icily at them.

"Drop your weapons or I squeeze a little too much." he threatened sharply, fingers tightening slowly around the man in warning. He didn't want to kill anyone, but he would cause bad injuries if it came down to it... "Now!"

The archer paled considerably, pushing frantically at Matthew's hand. Of course, that did him absolutely no good.

Quickly, not wanting to have the death of one of their fellows on their hands, the remaining men dropped their swords and bows. Well, some of them dropped them, while others stooped to place them more gently on the ground. Either way, all of them were unarmed in a matter of seconds.

Matthew swallowed dryly as he relaxed a bit once the men were unarmed, his fingers loosening around his captive though still holding firm. Green eyes scanned them and he took a half-step back. "Back away from them." he ordered, part of his attention turning to the odd feeling of holding a person in his hand. It was incredible--and at the same time it was freaky. These people were so small...

"What is this place? And who are you?" he asked, then his eyes narrowed slightly. "I want answers before I even think about putting him down."

Phoenix-FireMage In reply to Amenarae [2014-02-09 05:09:25 +0000 UTC]

Obediently, they all took a few steps back, leaving their weapons on the ground in front of them. The archer in Matthew's hand slumped over, burying his face in his hands so that all could be seen were his quivering shoulders and his coppery red hair.

"Y-you don't know where you are?" one of the swordsmen asked.

At the same time, another piped up, saying boldly, "We're soldiers of the Argonian army."

Amenarae In reply to Phoenix-FireMage [2014-02-09 05:20:09 +0000 UTC]

Green eyes glanced momentarily to the archer in his hand, slight guilt pricking his chest but not enough to let him go for. If anything, he was weirded out even more by the feeling of the man shaking in his grasp. His attention turned back to the one who gave him an answer, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Argo--? What? Wait..." His eyes slid towards his captive again, then back to the men on the ground to scan them. "If I put him down, will you not attack me...?" he asked slowly, distrustfully. Matthew took a quarter step forward and started to kneel, eyeing each of the men in turn. He hovered the redhead about two and half feet from the ground in front of him as he waited for their answer.

Phoenix-FireMage In reply to Amenarae [2014-02-09 05:26:31 +0000 UTC]

"Argonian," the same swordsman repeated, his eyes locking on Matthew's face, though only for a second before they dropped again.

"We won't attack you," the man who was in charge said at last, pulling nervously at his mustache, "as long as you don't do anything else threatening. Otherwise... all bets are off."

The red haired archer looked up a little, peering down at the ground to see how high up he was. When he saw that he was still over twice his own height above the ground, his blue eyes squeezed tightly shut, and he gripped Matthew's finger tightly.

Amenarae In reply to Phoenix-FireMage [2014-02-09 05:34:48 +0000 UTC]

"Fair enough..." Matthew said slowly with a nod, carefully and cautiously lowering the man to the ground the rest of the way. Once the archer's feet touched the dirt, the 6'5" teen slowly and hesitantly released him and pulled back. He knelt so he wasn't so tall in comparison--though it only took of about a foot and a half or so from his height--but held a position that would allow him to stand quickly and move if need be. His gaze followed the redhead for a moment before turning to the one is charge.

"So you're soldiers..." he said. "And this is Argonia or Argo or something like that... I've never heard of this place before in my life... Is everyone here this tiny?"

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Phoenix-FireMage In reply to Amenarae [2014-02-09 22:11:54 +0000 UTC]

As soon as the archer was set down, he scrambled backwards and away, wanting to put as much distance between himself and the 'giant' as he could. Soon, he was standing next to the others.

"Argonia," the boss told Matthew.

"We're not tiny!" one of the swordsmen protested. "You're the big one!" He was quickly hushed, however.

"Yes, everyone around here is our size," said a relatively tall blonde man who had his hand of the other's mouth. "The giants live rather far away, which is why we were so surprised to see you."

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Amenarae In reply to Phoenix-FireMage [2014-02-09 22:27:27 +0000 UTC]

"Giants...? I'm not a giant." Matthew said, brows furrowed towards the smaller blonde. "I'm human--I'm normal! Well, maybe a little tall, but still normal! No, you'reΒ tiny!" he said decisively, shaking his head and pointing at the other blonde. They were only about an inch or two out of reach, but it could be easily remedied if he leaned forward even a little. In fact, he did just that and snagged the blonde man's uniform with his fingers and pulled him closer in an instant.

"How did I get here?! How do I leave?!" the teen snapped at him, then his eyes turned to the others. "I just showed up here a few days ago!"

"H-hey!" the soldier protested as he was pulled closer, pushing against Matthew's fingers. "Look, I don't know how you got here, alright?" he exclaimed. "And I'm sorry, but I'm having some trouble believing that you're human... if you are, then you're the first human I've met who's nearly forty feet tall."

Amenarae In reply to Phoenix-FireMage [2014-02-09 23:43:06 +0000 UTC]

"Forty--? I'm six-five! And you're all a foot tall, each! You're crazy, I--" Matthew paused suddenly and took a look around at the environment. It suddenly occurred to him that the trees matched the scale of the men rather than him, and that, in their eyes, he really would be like a giant... "I... That's..." The teen seemed to have calmed down again, utterly confused as he lowered the man to ground though his fingers still gripped the uniform and kept him captive without thinking. His eyes scanned the surroundings with a feeling of being lost all of the sudden...

"I don't understand... I'm human..." he muttered.

"Did you happen to tick off a wizard or something recently?" the blond soldier asked, struggling to free his shirt from Matthew's grasp but having a lot of trouble. One of his companions gave him an odd look, and he shrugged. "It's the only explanation I can think of at the moment for suddenly becoming five or six times your normal height..."

Matthew's eyes turned back to the blonde fighting his grip and he loosened his hold on the uniform though still kept him there. "Are you saying that magic is real...? No, wait, never mind that. You mentioned giants--maybe I could... Could you take me there?" he asked hesitantly, then quickly thought better of it.

"Uh, don't, actually. Maybe we could help each other, instead..." When he said this, he released the blonde and lowered himself a bit more by a few inches. "Maybe you're right. Maybe I grew."

The blonde soldier backed up again a few paces, breathing hard. He looked up into Matthew's face, unsure how to answer. The giant had taken back all of his statements... Finally, he had a response. "What... what were you planning?" he asked.

Matthew faltered, stopping before he actually said anything. He hadn't thought about what he was asking. "Uh... I'm not sure..." he admitted slowly. "Well... What were you going to do with me before? When I still didn't know about, um," he gestured to them indicating their height. "you. What did you have in mind, then?" Honestly, he was grasping at straws, but it was all he could think of at the moment. Nothing had ever prepared him for an experience like this.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Phoenix-FireMage In reply to Amenarae [2014-02-10 23:54:30 +0000 UTC]

"Well, that would depend on how much of a threat you turned out to be," the boss replied. "And also assuming we'd stayed in charge," he muttered under his breath. "If you were of little to no threat," he said, addressing Matthew again, "we would have likely let you go. If you were a medium threat, we'd have given you an armed 'escort' back to giant territory, and if you turned out to be a great threat, we probably would have killed you."

Matthew bit his lip, feeling the weight of his prior actions on his shoulders. He messed up. Green eyes turned to the man in charge with almost pleading in them. "What if I promised to keep my hands to myself?" he offered. "I won't touch anyone if you help me. Please, I don't know what's going on and I just kind of panicked... I didn't hurtΒ anyone, right? Uh... Other than when I threw you off my shoulder... But I didn't know! I thought I was dealing with someone my size!" the teen quickly said in his defense. He hung his head, getting the feeling he wasn't really helping his cause.

"I could be helpful...?" he tried weakly with a nervous smile. "Since I'm bigger I can lift heavier stuff! C'mon, I'll be good! I won't hurt anyone...!"

The man seemed very uncertain, exchanging a look with his troops. Finally, he turned back to Matthew and nodded. "Fine. But you have to behave yourself, got it? That includes keeping your hands to yourself and obeying orders. Think you can do that?"

The teen's Β eyes brightened and he smiled broad, nodding energetically. "Yes! I swear, I'll be good! Thank you!" Matthew quickly got to feet--maybe even too quickly--and looked down at the men. "Where to? Just lead the way and I'll follow!" Though part of him was already opposed to the idea of being told what to do, he shut it out for now and told himself that this was a good thing, that it was going to work in his favor.

"Ah--sorry..." Mathew muttered, rubbing his neck and lowering himself to rest on his knees. "But how am I supposed to go anywhere if I'm sitting? I've got to stand sometime..." Green eyes apologetically scanned the group of nervous men, somewhere inside the teen's mind Matthew actually felt a bit of power from being able to scare them so easily by just standing. But he tucked it away for now, reminding himself he needed their help still.

"When we actually go somewhere, you can stand up again," came the reply. Glancing over at his men, the leader gave a slight nod, and they reclaimed their weapons, though none of them pointed them at Matthew. Rather, the swordsmen sheathed their swords, and the archers slung their bows across their backs. "Now, since we can't just call you 'giant'... what's your name?"

The teen watched the group take up their weapons again, part of him a bit worried they might try something while he wasn't expecting it and already down closer to them. But it came as a relief when they were all put away. His eyes turned back to the man in charge. "Oh, uh... Matthew... Matthew Pacener. And... Can I know your name...?"

"Never heard of Florida or your United States, either," the lieutenant replied. "So you're probably right that they're not close."

The archer's head jerked up, looking at Matthew with wide eyes. "Flinch," another soldier joked. The redhead responded by elbowing him in the gut, hard. The taunter doubled over.

"Cedric Fitch," he replied to Matthew.

"We used to call him Hulk because he wore a lot of green, and he was bigΒ guy; bigger than me. He was pretty chill most of the time, though, so he was cool." Matthew gave Cedric a small grin.

For a moment, there was silence, and then Cedric said, "Perhaps we're distantly related."

At the same time, one of the other soldiers commented, "You sure talk weird..." Turning to Cedric, he added, "And how could you be related to a giant?"

The tall blond who'd asked if Matthew had ticked off a wizard rolled his eyes as though he was quite sure his companion was an idiot. "We just established that he's from far off, Ezekiel," he said. "Why wouldn't he talk differently? Also, his friend is probably not a giant, since Matthew here said that he's human, and only six foot five normally."
