You know now I look at this and think "Who ever made the exiled prince was thinking about Leliana."
Believe in the Maker
Use Bows
And I hear that this guy sings.

Hey, they may be my least favorite LIs but they're interesting characters that are fun to draw. So they get the same treatment as my faves. They'd be so bffs and talk about the Maker aaaaall day long.

True. Leliana was a great friend in DA and now I'm sad that she's going all Chantry-cheerleader. Sebastian doesn't even want to go shoe shopping.

I was never a big fan of Leliana, but at least she was reasonable in DA: O. Apparently all those conversations with my Wardens didn't mean squat, though, since she was such a huge tool in DA2.
I was sooo disappointed on my first playthrough, because I really thought I was going to have the opportunity to kill Sebastian at the end, when he started threatening Hawke. Oh well, at least Elthina bought it.

PhoenixFuryBane In reply to Corbie [2011-05-06 00:06:27 +0000 UTC]
And here I thought the Warden had massive powers of persuasion, but not when it comes to Leliana. I didn't tell you to become a creepy secret religious agent, Leliana! I told you to go shoe shopping with me.
Haha. I thought there was going to be a "punch" option when he keeps jumping in during that whole conversation. Then he's like, "I'll get you!...Later...for now I'm just gonna walk off. Bye now!"

lol It was worth getting Seb in on the team just to hear the dialogue about his belt buckle. I still find both were good to have along at times, for the drama or humor. I just don't want to romance them.

I find it ironic how I imported my F!Amell when I went through the DLC - really Leliana? Were you still bitter my mage blew you off at that time in camp?
As for Sebastian ... sigh. The only good thing about that man is the banter he has with Isabela. 'Stand still Sebastian, I wanna see myself in your shiny armor!'

lol, I didn't like Seb as a love interest either, mostly because it kind of felt just thrown in there. Oh, lets give people who don't want Fenris or Anders another chaste love interest! XD And... as much as I liked Elthina, she and Seb needed to make their own decisions. Hawke eventually did, you can too!
And I loved Leliana up until DA2. Her coming out and speaking that the mages needed to be chained really disappointed me. I know that the Chantry saved her and she's grateful, but... really?
π: 0 β©: 1
PhoenixFuryBane In reply to bukittyan [2011-05-03 00:18:14 +0000 UTC]
Let's have a love interest that won't even give you a hug! Brilliant. Those two annoyed me so much with their hands off attitude. Augh. Elthina, you're in charge! Do something! You too, Seb.
I know! I thought she was more open minded considering she had a different attitude about the Maker than many in the Chantry had. But, nope, now she's all gung-ho for all of Chantry's goings on. I guess it's because the Divine was her old friend.

bukittyan In reply to PhoenixFuryBane [2011-05-03 13:14:10 +0000 UTC]
I kind of liked that Elthina stayed neutral. Mostly because, after talking to her, I knew which way she would go if pressed and it wasn't with the mages. I think staying neutral, for her, was her way of supporting them because if she had to choose, she would choose the chantry and Meredith. But Seb... oh, Seb.
I wonder if we'll be going up against the Chantry next game. Sure seems that way.
π: 0 β©: 2
Corbie In reply to bukittyan [2011-05-05 14:38:54 +0000 UTC]
Ugh, I hated Elthina. She let the templars abuse the mages horribly, but claimed she was maintaining some kind of "balance." No, lady, you aren't. There is no balance in this situation.
Not to mention she let Meredith make a SECULAR power grab for control of Kirkwall--there is no way to justify that. By refusing to reign in Meredith, she basically condoned her actions, IMHO.
As for Petrice, I always wonder if her shock at Elthina's reaction in Act 2 is because she did have Elthina's approval, and didn't expect Elthina to throw her under the bus when the time came.
π: 0 β©: 1
bukittyan In reply to Corbie [2011-05-06 11:40:16 +0000 UTC]
Heh, I think Elthina is very good at being a spiritual leader, and very bad at doing the rest of her job. She strikes me as someone who doesn't want to deal with anything outside tending to her flock unless really forced to. Petrice probably took away a lot of that secular stuff off her plate, so Elthina probably overlooked the fact that she was a little overzealous until it was too late. I don't think she condoned the behavior, but was lazy about dealing with it.
Discussing these things with people makes you think even more about these games!

There is a very interesting discussion about just this subject here: [link]
You know you've got a great game when you can get people passionately involved in a debate about the guilt/innocence of fictional characters.

PhoenixFuryBane In reply to bukittyan [2011-05-04 02:43:18 +0000 UTC]
I can't really get behind Elthina for promoting Petrice. I mean, that woman was obviously up to no good and you give her a better position? More opportunity to make sermons about how awful the Qunari are? Also, her comment about the Hero of Ferelden always irks me. It's always, "The Maker saved us from the Blight" and oh boy if you're an elf, mage or dwarf it's like, "See? Even a minority or cursed person can do the Maker's work." She also has so many opportunities to do her job and she just stands there because "The Chantry's a gentle mother." Augh, I just got so irked. It's no wonder Seb couldn't make up his mind.
π: 0 β©: 1
bukittyan In reply to PhoenixFuryBane [2011-05-04 11:42:16 +0000 UTC]
Haha, I thought that myself sometimes, actually. She tells Seb to make up his mind, yet doesn't do the same. I didn't hear that about the Blight though, and I used my Mahariel saves for Marian. Hrm....

The chantry burns it into their heads that they can only listen to their precious Maker, and nothing else. If they had a sibling or child that had magic at a very young age they'd look at the world differently!
F*ck the Chantry, And F*ck the Maker!

High five and brofist!!!
Though Seb gets some approval point from me for encouraging and reassuring Fenris that he is loved and needed and blah, blah, blah. And he is a man (and I am nerdy fangirl).
But yeah. These two have the skill to drive me mad just being nice... XD

Exactly! For the... someones sake!!! That is why I really donΒ΄t like religious people, they just seem to lack personality and free mind (add up logic and common sense too). When they start to speak about the faith...
Which is like...99% of their lives...
Oh Seb.... At least you didnΒ΄t make it any more worse for me when I had this huge dilemma choosing between Anders and Fenris.

Leliana was a sweety (even if she did want to keep my Surana!Warden's eyelashes in a jar D: ) - but I admit I prefer her hardened because she's not all 'MakerAndrasteMaker' all the time. Seb I was neutral towards until he threatened to burn down all of Kirkwall just to get at Anders. Holy disproportionate retribution, Batman! Seb, you sure you're fit to rule a city-state?
But back on topic, I really like their expressions in this one. They're both so excited, haha. I want to hug them both.

PhoenixFuryBane In reply to IndigoLurong [2011-05-02 05:31:18 +0000 UTC]
I'm disappointed that hardening Leliana makes no difference. She still becomes Secret Agent Super Chantry. She had a lot of fun conversations in Origins, so I'm sad that I'm suspicious of her now. I like Seb as a character because he does provide a lot of hilarity and drama, but guy's a total ponce.
Seb: "So Fenris, who will turn in the apostates? Shall was draw lots?"
Fenris: "Uh uh. You want to turn them in, take it up with Hawke."
Anders: "The templars just haven't caught me."
Hawke: "D: But...I'm a mage...and I'm standing right here. Like, right here. I can hear you."

IndigoLurong In reply to PhoenixFuryBane [2011-05-02 05:44:56 +0000 UTC]
Well, Leliana becomes Secret Agent Super Chantry (lol that nickname) even if you behead her, so... Yeah, still waiting on BioWare for an explanation on that one. I'm willing to handwave a lot, but "she's alive because we want her to be" does not fly for me. xD
Ahh, Seb. That ain't cool, dude. I haven't taken him along for any of my playthroughs yet; Isabela and Varric are too much fun and I don't really need more than one rogue at a time. His only redeeming feature might be that accent.
